Have you heard the news? Rev. Vicki Kirk Mouradian will be retiring at the end of August after 13 years of remarkable service at All Saints. On Sunday, August 30, we will celebrate her ministry here and congratulate her on her retirement. If you would like to contribute to an offering called a “purse” for Vicki, please send your check to All Saints by August 24 and in the memo, please put Rev. Vicki Mouradian. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to Vicki and thank her for all she has given to All Saints through her gifts for ministry. Please keep her in your prayers as she makes this transition in her own life.

20th Annual Jim Bower Golf Tournament, Parish Dinner & Silent Auction

What? Golf, fun, fellowship, food and shopping!

When? Sunday September 13

Where? Glen Annie Golf Club – Goleta

Why it Matters:

All the money raised from this event goes to our community partners and is the chief source of the church’s Outreach funding for the year. Because our support for Outreach relies on this event, any shortfall in our fundraising means a reduction in support we offer to serve the homeless (Transition House), fight s*x trafficking (Olive Crest, Pedal the Pacific) or help qualified local residents obtain driver’s licenses, improve their English or obtain citizenship (Immigrant Hope). Whether you participate as a golfer, dinner guest, or sponsor, we need your help to continue these activities.

Children, Youth, and Family Ministries had a great outing to the zoo last week! We took turns blessing our favorite animals, including the flamingos, giraffes, peacock-pheasants, salamanders, and red pandas.

Our Children, Youth, and Family Ministries have been blessed with an abundance of Godly Play materials, making many of our stories duplicates. So, we were grateful for the opportunity to donate some of them to St George's Anglican Church in New Brunswick, an under resourced province in Canada, through parishioner Elissa Rodkey who has lived in that area as a professor during the academic year. It is a small but vibrant Anglican congregation with a number of families who have immigrated from India, Africa, and the Caribbean. St George's is in partnership with five other small Anglican congregations in the area and every month they share a church service, combining the children's Sunday School. Our donated stories will be well used by all of these children! We hope the stories will be a cherished part of their early faith formation just as they have been for our children at All Saints.

Could you recognize a victim of human trafficking if she was standing right in front of you?

There may be a young woman at a gas station who won't make eye contact.

The teenager with someone much older who speaks for her.

The girl at a motel who seems afraid to answer simple questions.

Join us for an important forum at All Saints tomorrow as we learn what to look for, how to respond safely, and how our community can protect vulnerable young women.
