Fall is officially here, and so is our last Philanthropy Friday of the year! This Friday, October 9th, 100% of proceeds all day, both in the Tasting Room and online, will support Mission Scholars, and the important work they do to provide comprehensive college admissions guidance, financial aid expertise, and career development to help high-achieving, low-income students reach their full potential and become a force for change in our communities.

Meet us at the Tasting Room Friday evening from 4-7pm to sip and give back in person at one of our last Golden Hour events of the year! Enjoy music by Omar Velasco, food from Tubby Cravings, and our award-winning wines, plus meet our adorable Clydesdales.

We love the Women’s Fund! We’re incredibly grateful for a two-year, $150,000 grant to launch our NextGen Leaders Initiative and support Mission Scholars students as they make the critical transition from college to career.

We were honored to be the featured grantee at the Women’s Fund Members Event and to share the impact of this investment alongside Mission Scholars alumna, Alondra, who beautifully captured why this work matters:

“Mission Scholars hasn’t just helped me get internships or get into college. Fundamentally, they are helping me live a different life from the one my parents lived… one where I get to choose who I want to become.”

It’s college application season at Mission Scholars, and our office is officially alive with our Class of 2027… the NEW SENIORS! ✨

From essay workshops to application writing sessions, there’s a whole lot of “locking in” happening around here💪🏽 One of our favorite parts is watching our Mission Scholars college students come back to support the next generation - sharing their stories, encouraging our seniors, and reminding them: “What you put in, you’ll get out.”

The sky is the limit for this incredible group. Their college essays are powerful reflections of who they are, where they come from, and where they’re going.

We can’t wait for the world to get to know them the way we do. Class of 2027, let’s go! 🚀

So much gratitude to Deckers Deckers Brands Deckers Gives for hosting The Deckers x Mission Scholars Future Forward Back-to-School Career Panel 🖤

Our Scholars had the opportunity to step into a corporate environment, hear from professionals across a range of career paths, ask questions, and envision new possibilities for their own futures. They also got to take home some amazing Deckers swag bags from the Deckers store! A huge thank you to the Deckers LatinX ERG, LTX, and the incredible Deckers leadership and panelists for investing in our students and making this experience possible. One of the biggest takeaways from the day? Take risks. Listen to your gut. Find mentors. And just go for it 💥

Deckers has been a champion of Mission Scholars since 2022, and we’re so grateful for this continued partnership! Here’s to helping our Scholars look forward, dream big, and going after the future they dream of!

College is almost here, and our Scholars are getting READY! 🎓📚✨

Huge thanks to UCSB professors Dr. Dolores Inés Casillas, Dr. Brett Collins, and Dr. Veronica Fermatt for joining us for our Professor Perspective & Mock Office Hours Workshop! From decoding college syllabi to practicing how to actually go to office hours (yes, professors want you to come!), our incoming college students got real-world advice and a chance to build their confidence before their first semester.

Feeling more prepared, confident, and ready to go… college, here they come! 💙

Annual Senior Hike to Inspiration Point ⛰️✨One of our favorite traditions at Mission Scholars!

Through rain, clouds, fog, and sunshine, we climbed above our city together and reflected on how far we’ve come, what we’re ready to leave behind, and what’s waiting on the horizon. At the peak, we talked about the future and at the bottom of the mountain, the seniors summed it up best: “ICONIC!”

Here’s to the next mountain—and all the incredible places these seniors are ready to go 🏔️

Thank you to Sonos for hosting Mission Scholars’ 5th Annual Leaders in Transition (LIT) Kickoff as we launched our newest graduating class into higher education!

The evening was filled with inspiration, reflection, and big dreams as Scholars created vision boards, explored the Sonos office, connected with mentors, and began envisioning the careers and lives they want to build.

For many of our students, this was their first time stepping into a corporate workplace. Experiences like these help expand what’s possible. As one Scholar shared, “I never saw myself in spaces like this.” Yesterday changed that.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Sonos team for opening your doors, investing in our students, and reminding them that their futures can be as big as they imagine. Here’s to the Class of 2026 as they take their next steps toward college and beyond! 🎓✨

WE MET THE MATCH!!! 💥

Because of this incredible community, Mission Scholars officially met (and exceeded!) the $75,000 Glory Days matching grant challenge, raising over $170,000!

From donors to community members to students who literally flew in from across the country to share their journeys and the Mission Scholars impact on their lives - this community showed UP 🤍 Huge shout out of gratitude to Mission Scholars Event Co-Chairs, Event hosts, and the Mission Scholars Development Committee for all their hard work in making our annual fundraiser a smashing success!

Still smiling from a night full of joy, connection, and belief in what’s possible for our students. Glory Days 2026, you were iconic!
