Why Celebrating Christmas Is Good for Your Mental Health - Neuroscience News 12/19/2020

It is be more important this year than ever before to engage in the celebrations and rituals of Christmas and New Year. There’s plenty of evidence to suggest that entering wholeheartedly into the spirit of the season – while keeping to 2020’s limitations – will be very good for our mental health. After a tough year, this might be exactly what we need.

Christmas has important social, cultural and religious functions. For people of all faiths (and none), the Christmas holidays bring people and families together to reflect on the year gone by and look forward to the next.

This is why it’s important to maintain rituals associated with celebrations: even if we won’t be experiencing events in the same way, our brains will still respond positively. Even Christmas smells can evoke memories of past times. Though we’re in completely different circumstances now, faced with these stimuli our brains will make us feel happy by triggering happy memories.

Why Celebrating Christmas Is Good for Your Mental Health - Neuroscience News Researchers explain why maintaining holiday rituals are important for mental health, especially in the time of COVID.

NASA, Space X launches today: New era for US space exploration begins 05/30/2020

I worked 37+ NASA Space Shuttle launches for Rockwell Reliability & Safety engineering groups in Downey keeping over 650 engineerings connected to the launches and all the maintenance issues.
I developed and built over 250+ databases to track and update all FMEA/CIL (3,700+) issues.

My systems supported all the enhancement projects for the 1988 return-to-flight after the Challenger incident.
Innovation provided by these NASA projects has created $$$ trillions of new growth and revenue for America.

It's good to see that again NASA has brought the America people a renewed future and a new future to our historical innovation in space.

The first test of your memory is - can you remember something you have forgotten?
If you can - you probably don't have dementia, yet.

MIT School of Engineering | » How are thoughts measured? 03/25/2019

Researchers at MIT developed a new kind of MRI sensor that could reveal brain activity more directly.
Developed by Alan Jasanoff, a professor of biological engineering and an associate member of the McGovern Institute, the sensor measures concentrations of dopamine, a brain chemical that carries messages between neurons and is involved in learning, movement, and other activities. Like a standard MRI, it picks up a magnetic change in a protein — only in this system, the magnetic signature changes when the protein binds to dopamine rather than oxygen.

MIT School of Engineering | » How are thoughts measured? “We’re limited in our ability to record individual human neurons,” says Charles Jennings, director of neurotechnology at the MIT’s McGovern Institute for Brain Research. He points, however, to one major exception. It is possible during neurosurgery, when the brain is exposed and the patient ...

All Exercise Intensities Benefit Older Brains 03/02/2019

Mostly for those over 50+, cramps can be avoided by doing "fascia" type stretching.
Our NeuroExercise +eXtension program teaches this type of stretching including activation +eXtension methods that stretch all your limb muscles with fascia stretching. There are many positive benefiting side effects such as improving working memory and listening improvements. Adding up the many neuron buildings and strengthening effects usually make a person more and more active in their lifestyle - hence, the more healthy you become and the better and more possibilities of improving your longevity become realized.

Blog | Let's Talk About Politics 11/08/2018

Let’s talk politics. Now, before you shut down your computer and switch off your smartphone, hear me out: I don’t want to discuss my political views per se. But I do want to discuss political views, or views of any kind.

First, it needs to be said that it is alright to “agree to disagree”. In fact, it is more than alright; it is completely normal! We all think differently—no two minds are alike. Don't talk in a toxic manner or a tone of voice (both ae equal toxic).

Watch what you say. When you make negative statements, you release negative chemicals in your (MBBf) Mind/Brain\Body framework. These chemicals allow negative memories to grow stronger, specifically if you continue to repeat these toxic uncontrollably dominate your thinking, which not only impacts those around you but also your own short and your long term health. Regardless of what the “sticks and stones” phrase says, so measure what you say with kindness and wisdom. Words also reflect what is going on in your head, so stop and ask yourself if you want those toxic thoughts to take permanent roots in your MBBf and color the way you see and react to people.

Looking closer into your brain - WOW!

The electrophysiologist may choose not to insert the tip into a single cell. Instead, the electrode tip may be left in continuity with the extracellular space. If the tip is small enough, such a configuration may allow indirect observation and recording of action potentials from a single cell, and is termed single-unit recording. Depending on the preparation and precise placement, an extracellular configuration may pick up the activity of several nearby cells simultaneously, and this is termed multi-unit recording.
