NEWS: Senior Natalie Torres Alcantar represented @cihs_raiders this past Saturday at the @vcpoetryfestival in the Poetry contest. Her poem, “The American Dream/El sueno Americano” was selected out of over 150 applicants for the contest, and she was invited to perform it at the festival. Of the five poems featured, the judge commended her poem for its, “strong and confident use of two languages, its passion and empathy, and its skewering of racism.” The judge also added, “This is the poetry of resistance.” Her poem can be found in the link in our bio. ✍️: Natalie Torres Alcantar 📸: @cihs.islefile
