Alkawthar offers more than eight programs to help the community learn Classical Arabic through the immersion method. AlKawthar aims to foster a sense of student control over learning and interest in the subject matter, by creating good learning tasks appropriate to each student’s level of understanding to make them learn better, and enjoy learning more. AlKawthar also employs the California Standards of Reading/Language Arts Principles as a guideline for teaching Arabic as a Second Language. These standards allow teachers to reach out to each student individually and establish realistic goals. Founder of Alkawthar:
Ohood Alomar
Taught Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qur’aan for over 25 years. Started her education at Al-Yarmouk University/Jordan where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Science. Continued her education at the American Open University/ Washington D.C., where she earned her second Bachelor’s degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies. Earned her master’s degree in Islamic Education from the same university. Successfully completed a number of workshops and programs related to professional development, curriculum planning, teaching methods and strategies, positive discipline, Peer Assisted Learning (PAL), Tajweed Qur'aan, and much more…
