On Earth Day, some of our younger children created Earth-themed handprint art and enjoyed coloring pictures of our Earth. This week, we also observed the life cycle of butterflies from hatching to their release. Through these activities, the children are learning to appreciate and care for our beautiful planet.

🛒 Going out for the shopping 🛒
お餅の本を読んで、お餅づくりに興味を持った小学生の子どもたちは、自分たちでお餅を作ってみることにしました。レシピを調べてお買い物リストを作り、園長に予算交渉をして、初めて自分たちだけでお買い物をしました。どきどきしながら店員さんに聞いたり、お金を払ったりしました。モンテッソーリ教育では、こういった子どもたちだけの課外活動が子どもたちの成長にとても大切なものとして取り入れています。
After reading a book about mochi, our elementary students became curious about how it’s made and decided to try making it themselves. In Montessori, going out is an essential part of the elementary child’s journey.
They researched a recipe, created a shopping list, and even discussed their budget with the school principal. Then, for the first time, they went shopping on their own.
Feeling a little nervous but excited, they asked store staff for help and handled the payment themselves.

The Sun Class children loved their visit to the Newport Beach Upper Back Bay and the Muth Interpretive Center. We enjoyed spending time in nature and learning about the biodiversity and conservation efforts of the beautiful scenery.

The Kindergarten children prepared homemade granola to take with them on their field trip to the Newport Beach Upper Back Bay. We loved preparing all the ingredients. It smells delicious!

Sports Festival 2026

We held our Sports Festival on March 1st.
So many smiles, so much energy, and so much growth 💛
It was a joyful celebration of teamwork and community.

On February 3rd, we celebrated Setsubun (節分) with all the children!
Setsubun is a traditional Japanese event where we throw beans to chase away bad luck and welcome good fortune 👹🫘
The children had so much fun learning about Japanese culture!
2月3日は日本の伝統行事「節分」を行いました。
豆まきで悪いものを追い払い、福を呼び込む日です。
子どもたちは文化を“体験”しながら楽しく学びました✨

☃️Holiday Show 2025☃️

Thank you very much for coming to the holiday show.
With the children’s adorable dancing, singing, and instrument performances, it became a wonderful show where we could truly feel how much they have grown.
