Plumfield School has been serving preschool families for over 45 years in the Santa Ana/North Tustin area! We believe children learn best through developmentally appropriate active play.

We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our staff as a lead teacher in our 3 year old classroom. This is a full time lead position for 10-12 children aged 3-4 years. Due to our needs and licensing requirements, only candidates with all minimum qualifications will be considered.

Plumfield School has been a staple in the community for many years. Most of our enrollment comes from word of mouth ... our reputation proceeds us. The owner is a former preschool student and is on site daily as director.

We are a "family" oriented environment where our small staff works cooperatively together. Our staff shares ideas, helps manage daily activities and strives to function cohesively.

Minimum Qualifications

12 Early Childhood Education Core Units which must include: Child in Home & Community, Human Development – Birth to Age 8, an Early Childhood Education Curriculum course, and one additional 3-unit ECE course. Courses must meet the CA Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing, Title 22 guidelines as a "lead teacher."

2 years experience working in a preschool center

Creativity in class curriculum including art, music and movement

Positive attitude, excited to grow in the position, reliable and enthusiastic

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with adults

First Aid/CPR training (school offers training/certification every 2 years to maintain)

Online Mandated Reporter training, Basic Pest Management and Germ Management training (mandated by Childcare Licensing). A certificate of completion within the last 12 months must be provided before beginning employment

TB test and physical are required

Must show proof of tDAP and MMR vaccinations and be willing to either obtain or sign a waiver for annual flu vaccine

Livescan Fingerprint Clearance (including DOJ and criminal abuse index)

High School Diploma or equivalent

Compensation is dependent upon experience.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are grateful for our little turkeys!!

Halloween Fun! We dressed in our favorite jammies (including our awesome staff) and danced, tossed rings on the witches hat, pumpkin bean bag toss, jumped in a sack race, threw sticky spiders, and pinned the skeleton head! Then we munched on mummy hot dogs for lunch! Such a fun morning! We hope you all have a safe and fu Halloween and can’t wait to see all your pictures! 👻🎃

It’s a Pesto Party!! Farmer Benito came to visit today and helped us pick basil and make pesto! We tasted it on a cracker. Sooo yummy! We ❤️our farming days!
