Oralia Cordova's path in education began in 2007 when she took her first step as a School Counselor with the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. Little did she know that this was just the beginning of a remarkable journey dedicated to transforming the lives of countless students. As a first-generation college graduate, Cordova's personal experience illuminated the profound impact education
can have in breaking barriers and creating opportunities. This realization became the driving force behind her unwavering commitment to ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality learning environment that fosters growth and success. Throughout her career, Cordova embraced various roles, each adding to her extensive expertise in guiding students towards a brighter future. She served as an Intervention Counselor with both the Chino Valley Unified School District and the Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District from 2014 to 2017. During these years, Cordova displayed her compassion and dedication to helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Her genuine care for their well-being garnered admiration and trust from all those she worked with. In 2017, Cordova ventured into a new phase of her career as an Assistant Principal with the Compton Unified School District. In this leadership role, she demonstrated her ability to create a safe and supportive school environment, where students could thrive academically and personally. Her commitment to robust support systems and a positive school culture inspired students and staff alike to excel and reach new heights. In 2019, Cordova embraced a fresh opportunity as an Assistant Principal with the Santa Ana Unified School District. Her dedication to the well-being of students and her visionary leadership made a significant impact on the entire school community. Her relentless pursuit of excellence and her genuine care for each individual resonated deeply with students, parents, and colleagues. Recently, Cordova achieved another milestone in her career as she was appointed as the Principal at Lydia Romero-Cruz Academy. This Tk-8th Dual Immersion, STEAM, and AVID Schoolwide school offers a unique platform to implement her vision for a holistic and innovative education. Her passion for bilingual education and promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) integration brings new opportunities for students to explore and excel. Beyond her professional achievements, Cordova's role as a mother of four further fuels her desire to create a nurturing and supportive environment for every child she serves. She understands the challenges and dreams of families and students alike, making her even more committed to their success.
