Carr Mariachi performed Canta Canta Canta at the 8th Grade Promotion at Valley High School! We will truly miss all of the 8th graders! We wish them the best in High School and hope to see them successful in reaching their dreams! Remember to reach for your dreams and always do your best! Mrs. Solares is proud of you!

Carr Mariachi and Orchestra performed at 3 senior living community homes yesterday! Our students gave joy and full engagement during each performance! They played with emotion and the audience was mesmerized! This was a great experience of connecting with others and socializing! This is why we play to pass the passion of music to others through music. Thank you to all the parent and alumni chaperones who came out to assist the students.

Carr Drum Line and Mariachi performed at King Elementary’s Pep Rally! Each class promoted a University in California! We are honored to be invited for the 2nd year in a row. We wish Mr. Jorge an awesome retirement! Thanks to Dr. Perla for the invite and to Ms. Chavez for helping our Mariachi Los Astros this year! Great job to Carr Mariachi and Drum Line!

The Spring Concert is over and I am facing the reality that 40 of my 8th graders are leaving. Some have been with me for 3 years and have grown immensely in performing their musical instrument. I am grateful for the parent boosters surprising me with flowers and strawberries. I am grateful for my colleagues who helped make the concert a success! Thank you Drum Line, Band, Orchestra, and Mariachi Students! I am proud of all of the students! 8th graders we have 3 weeks left let’s stay focused and end the year on a great note!

Carr Intermediate 8th Graders had the pleasure of visiting Valley High School today! We saw the awesome VAPA program, Culinary, Automative, Anteater, Health, Global Business, and Engineering Academies offered at Valley! Our students were amazed by all the programs offered! We were happy to know that students can be in multiple academies! Then we cheered our Baseball/Softball, Street Hockey, and Volleyball teams with a Pep Rally hosted by Mrs. Abejar’s ASB! Good luck to all teams! Today was eventful!

Great job to our Orchestra and Mariachi students for putting on a great show at Knotts Berry Farm! The students and chaperones had a blast at Knotts going on rides and making some fun memories! Thanks to all chaperones who helped out! We would not be able to have any field trip without parent or teacher support! Great Job Carr Orchestra and Mariachi students for having great Character, Achievement, Respect, and Responsibility!

Carr Mariachi performed at Downtown Santa Ana’s Viva La Vida Event in honor of Dia De Los Mu***os. It was wonderful to see our students make beautiful memories by performing traditional mariachi music that is part of the Dia De Los Mu***os Culture. We smelled incense as we walked down the promenade filled with altares honoring people who have passed on. This event was lively and we were grateful to participate and represent SAUSD! Great Job Mariachi Los Astros!
