Engage 360 staff cooperated in co-learning with Dr. Cecilia Chavez who did a teach-in on our district’s McKinney-Vento program and how plays a role in supporting our 6,000 students in our district who have insecure housing situations.

Joining us was the chief operations officer for -a program that can come to students, for the purposes of tutoring, school supplies and support. Students must be in motel/unhoused/shelter situations. Doubled up (renting room)does not count for that specific program. To participate please contact the person on the flyer directly or contact Dr. Chavez.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! SAUSD cares greatly about the mental health and overall wellbeing of our SAUSD students, families, staff, school community, and overall local community. In order to be healthy, we need good mental health.

Stay tuned for more tips throughout the month for how to take care of your mental health!

This Spring semester, through a partnership with OCDE, some of our SAUSD School Social Workers have been working with SAUSD School Counselors to bring some amazing workshops to parents related to Mental Health and Parenting! Parent engagement is vital for positive outcome with students!

Our School Social Workers also provide training to school staff on a district wide and school site level. Here, some of our Senior School Social Workers are providing training to different groups of district staff on su***de and threat management protocols. Ensuring that staff are aware of how to respond to crises helps keep students and the school community safe!
