The American Legion Department Leadership Has Spoken!

This weekend in Merced, the California American Legion Department Executive Committee took a clear stand. By a strong majority vote, the DEC adopted a resolution urging the National Executive Committee and the National Legislative Commission to withdraw the National Organization's endorsement of the Take Care of America's Veterans Act (TCAVA) unless it is amended to fully comply with the legislative policies established by the membership through adopted resolutions.

The message is straightforward: The American Legion's strength has always come from its grassroots members and the resolutions they adopt. California has reaffirmed that veterans' earned disability benefits should be defended, not bargained away, and that one group of veterans should never have to sacrifice benefits to fund another.

Resolutions matter. Members matter. Veterans past, present, and future matter.
