It is with a heavy heart, and with the permission of the Herrera family, that I share the sad news of the passing of Mrs. Alicia Herrera earlier this week.

Mrs. Herrera served Sanger Academy for 17 years and made a tremendous impact on our students, staff, and community. She loved being part of the SAC family and cared deeply for the children and families she served.

The Herrera family would like to share the following message:

"On behalf of the Herrera family, we would like to thank the SAC faculty, staff, and students. Mrs. Alicia loved working at Sanger Academy and being part of the SAC family. Our family can 100% say that Mrs. Alicia always left the house excited and ready to work, even when she was going through her chemotherapy treatments. When she had to stop working, one of her greatest motivators to get better was returning to SAC to help the faculty and staff and take care of the students. It was heartwarming to see people in public run up and say, 'Hi, Mrs. Alicia!' Thank you all for accepting and loving our mom."
