🎉 FIVE TO ZERO! A Historic Academic Turnaround for Lee County Schools

Lee County Schools is celebrating a major milestone as NCDPI released School Performance Grades today: all 14 graded schools improved, and the district now has ZERO schools designated as low-performing! 👏🎉

Just one year ago, five schools carried that designation. Today, all five have exited - making LCS one of just 24 public school districts in our state with no low-performing schools, and the only district in the Sandhills region to reach zero.

The progress goes even further:
📈 Six schools improved by at least one full letter grade.
⭐ 11 of 14 graded schools met or exceeded expected academic growth.
🚀 East Lee Middle School gained 14 points overall - the district’s largest increase.
🎓 The district’s graduation rate reached 89.2%, higher than the statewide rate.

These results reflect the dedication of students, teachers, staff, administrators, and families across Lee County. While this is an important milestone, the work continues in each of our local public schools.

Yellow bus transportation assignments are now LIVE in Parent Portal for the 26/27 school year.

This will allow you to see your stop times. Please note, the first few days will be longer than usually as we check ids, the students will have to be buckled and students have to be signed in and out as it is a learning curve for all involved. The designated adult and child must be present at the bus stop ready to board within a 10 minute window both before and after of your assigned time. The designated responsible adult is one of the 5 emergency contacts that you have given us permission for your child to be released.

🐾💙 Gearing up for a new school year has never been so much fun! 💙🐾

We’ve enjoyed a yummy breakfast donated by Big T’s, sent our staff on a very competitive duck hunt 🦆😂, and celebrated our wonderful principal, Mrs. Huffer, on her birthday! 🎂🥳

A little food, fun, and laughter is the perfect way to kick off another great year with our Warren Williams family! 💙🐾

We had a productive, wonderful, and delicious first required workday today as we were treated for lunch by the lovely ladies from Shepherds Baptist Church 💙💚💙💚

We're excited to share that the Lee County Education Foundation has committed $10,000 annually to support experiential learning opportunities for Lee County Schools' Pre-K students!

These field trips do so much more than provide a fun day away from the classroom. They help build background knowledge, strengthen vocabulary, reinforce classroom instruction, and create meaningful learning experiences that many students will remember for years to come.

The smiles from Warren Williams Preschool's recent visit to Broadway Zoo say it all!

This new initiative is especially meaningful to us because it helps fulfill our goal of impacting students at every stage of their educational journey... from Pre-K through 12th grade.
