Well, that is a wrap. Officially! School year 2025-26 ended with one more awesome family engagement event for our Stone St. children and families.

Going to The playlot is a memorable experience for everyone -for the children for being at such big playground!, for the parents having the opportunity to spend quality time with their children, and for the Head Start staff to take one more mental picture of the kids they have been caring and educating for the past year.

The awesomest (yes, it is a made up word but we need it! 🤭) part of this event was that we had siblings who have been in the program with these same teachers so when they saw each other, there were a lot of hugs (and maybe a tear or two).

Thank you, The PlayLOT for having us for our year-end celebration! We had a blast! 🙌

What an epic ending of the Early Head Start school year at our Emery Street center! Themed "Carnival Spectacular," the event had all the elements a true carnival has - a entry tickets, games, and food!

A few pictures from RiverJam 2026 - Biddeford premier music fest!

It is always fun to connect with community members and other organizations during the event. Doing it with WIC York County, Maine staff is so much better! And for our Family Liaison in Biddeford, this was his first RiverJam and the third community event with Head Start. But he was a total pro when it comes to connecting with families and engaging with the children ready to spin the wheel!

The Springvale teachers and families could not have asked for a better day for their End of the Year celebration at Pick Your own at McDougal Orchards. It was everything that a Maine summer can bring - warm sun, fresh air, fun activities, and opportunities for parents and children to bond and create memories.

This picture captures the essence of Head Start: partnership in action. Our education staff - Ms. Tanya, Lead Teacher at Biddeford Pre-K, and Mr. Bohdi, Family Liaison in Biddeford - are working alongside a community partner, a translator with the Biddeford School Department, to help a parent learn about the many benefits of enrolling their child in Head Start. It’s a great example of how we come together to make sure families have the information, support, and opportunities they need. 💙

We are looking forward to seeing upcoming Biddeford Pre-K parents and anyone interested in enrolling their child in the Head Start classroom at BPS tonight, 4-6 pm.
