Mr. Mello's U.S. History classes recently spent time writing arguments based on evidence to persuade him whether or not the United States should declare war on Germany for sinking the Lusitania in 1915. These types of exercises in Mr. Mello's class tie directly into the rhetoric stage of classical education being offered at St. Thomas.

In addition, Mr. Mello is once again providing a personal finance class for middle schoolers. Recently, students spent time looking into spending and how certain influences impact how we spend money.

This morning, we celebrated our first school Mass of the year for our K-8 students!

Our Masses are extremely special. Our middle school students plan – and participate in – nearly every piece of our liturgy. From prayers of the faithful – to singing, lectoring, and altar serving – our students lovingly put their faith into action. We even have incredible “Church Buddies,” older students paired with younger students, who lead and guide with patience, kindness, respect, and reverence.

In his homily, Fr. Bill spoke about our spiritual theme of the school year - being Christ-centered - reminding us that Jesus is an important part of everything we think, say, and do each day.

Here’s to a beautiful and blessed 2026-2027! ✝️

We are SO grateful to the team from Volk Packaging Corporation who came out to spruce up St. Thomas today.

The inaugural Volk Cares Day took men and women away from their normal work routines and out into the community to make a difference. And what a difference they made! Together they organized a trash and brush cleanup for us, mowed, painted our large play unit, installed a safety border around our pre-k structure…and they even organized and distributed textbooks!

Thank you, again, Volk Packaging! What a gift to our school!

Students in Mr. Rowles’ fifth grade science class studied chemical reactions today. The combination of baking soda and vinegar encouraged our students to predict, observe, and discuss - important components of the scientific method!
