Book drive volunteers needed

With 2 weeks to the book giveaway we are in need of lots of volunteers to help organize books this week and next week. Do you have NHS students looking for CAS/Volunteer hours? Here are the hours...


Tues 2/25: 2:30 - 3:30 pick up/organize books
Thurs 2/27 2:30-3:30 pick up/organize books
Tues 3/4 2:30 - 3:30 pick up/organize books
Thurs 3/6 2:30 - 3:30 pick up/organize books
Fri 3/7 2:30-5:00 Transport books to Cafeteria/Set up
Sat 3/8 9:00 - 3:00 (2 shifts) Book Giveaway Setup/Breakdown

NHS/Beta for Baseball Opening Day

The Stadium is located at 1201 Mellonville Ave. and there will be a very large crowd. Please arrive at 8AM and plan on parking in the empty lot on the South side of the Stadium. The carnival area will be set up and NHS/Beta checks in with Tootie for instructions but area does not open till after the event. If help is needed with the preparing of the hot dogs NHS/Bets assigned to that area can then help with the hot dogs. (FYI we prepare and hand out hot dogs and drinks to the 445 baseball players and their coach so help is really needed.) There is also a chance that the Recreation or Stadium staff may need help from one or more of NHS/Bets so they may just ask the first one they see.

Again, we cannot thank the NHS/Beta for all their help because without them we could not accomplish the success with the events that we have.

Our plans for going to the Lead Conference for leadership training has one opening. Chicago. Feb 13-16. Let me know by tomorrow if your are interested we only have 8 slots We have sent this out befor but now we are making plane reservations so time is running our. Mrs johnson

REMINDER - ALL MEMBERS NHS AND BETA: any inappropriate behavior at meeting -- ESPECIALLY when we have a speaker will not be tolerated --
no exceptions -- you will be asked to leave and points will be deducted -- I will also write a referral for insubordination and inappropriate behavior toward a guest speaker.

There are no exceptions to this. I understand there was some rude and inappropriate responses to our speaker yesterday. That is not NHS AND BETA appropriate behavior. That is NOT character and leadership appropriate behavior.

That is even behavior to the level of dismissal as a member FROM EITHER ORGANIZATION. There has been a section added to the points that will record those acting inappropriately. I suggest that you self-monitor your behavior and act like NHS and BETA members with the character you proposed to have in your applications.
