In Ms. Hinson’s Kindergarten Praise & Worship class, students are learning not only how we worship, but why we worship. After learning what it means to praise God, they get to put it into practice through joyful praise songs together! 🎀✨

We recently had the honor of recognizing our Ladies Volleyball and Golf Seniors, and the night did not disappoint. The stands were full of excitement, and the love and support from teammates and families made it truly special.

Last week, we welcomed some very special guests to campus for The Grand Event, our celebration of Grandparents Day! ❀️

Grandparents joined our elementary through eighth-grade students for a wonderful day filled with chapel services, classroom visits, teacher introductions, campus tours, arts and crafts, and a trip to the Book Fair.

It was a joy watching families experience our school together and seeing our students proudly share the people, places, and activities that make their days so special.

Thank you to every grandparent and family member who joined us. Your love, encouragement, and presence made The Grand Event truly grand! πŸ“šπŸŽ¨πŸ™

Some moments are worth revisiting. β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Earlier this month, we were honored to welcome our local first responders to GCS for Local Heroes Day as we remembered September 11th and the lives forever impacted by that day.

From joining us for Chapel to giving students an up-close look at their vehicles and equipment, it was a meaningful opportunity to learn fromβ€”and thankβ€”the men and women who serve our community.

We shared the photos, but this video captures even more of what made the day so special.

Half a portrait, a whole lot of creativity!

Students in Mrs. Langley’s Fall Art Studio Academy used half of their school portrait as a guide and put their observation skills to the test by drawing the missing half. From facial proportions and symmetry to shading and tiny details, students worked carefully to make both sides come together!

Due to inclement weather and field conditions, tonight’s Middle School and Varsity Men’s soccer games have been postponed.

Likewise, tonight’s originally-planned Senior Night ceremony has been postponed and will now take place on Monday, September 28th. More details to come!

Our Boss Club students have been learning firsthand from some incredible local business owners through their weekly Meet the Bosses visits!

So far, students have welcomed Mr. Anthony with Gravity Drone Services; Mr. Slatcher with The Robot Dog; Donald Dees of Dee’s Bees, Mr. Hasemeir with Form V Chocolates, and Mrs. Rae Anne Kinney with Pine Scone Cafe.

Boss Club gives students hands-on experience building a real small business from the ground up while learning about branding, pricing, merchandising, target markets, problem solving, decision making, and more.

Before each visit, students research the business and prepare questions, giving them the opportunity to learn directly from entrepreneurs about the rewards, challenges, and realities of owning a business.

A huge thank you to each of these local business owners for sharing their time, experience, and advice with our future entrepreneurs! πŸ’Όβœ¨
