The stars were out for our second semester Awards Day at FLK yesterday! We started on a musical note with our preschoolers and one of our graduates performing for us. Then we celebrated our Terrific Kids, shining stars from our specials classes, and honor roll recipients. Great job, Falcons! 🏆

Ms.Reece's class planted their pollination garden this week! Students learned about plant parts, how to take care of plants, insects, and pollination. This project was funded through the Ag in the Classroom grant sponsored by Farm Bureau. Thank you very much to the Lee County Farm Bureau for supporting this awesome project! As part of the grant we also had a guest speaker on Friday that came to talk to our class about pollination and NC plants and farming. Thank you so much Donald Nicolson for coming out! Also, thank you to Ms.Melpolder and Amanda Bratcher for organizing the soil donation from the City of Sanford and helping to plan out our garden. Lastly, thank you to all the FLK staff and the Reece family members who helped move soil, unload items, and helped plant! This was a team effort and I can't wait to see it grow and bloom!
