Colloquium Christi seeks to further RBC’s vision of faithfully “producing knowledgeable and articulate students,” by educating them “in the historic Christian faith, as affirmed in the Reformed confessions, so that they know, worship, and serve God in all of life.” It will accomplish this by facilitating conversations concerning biblical and theological studies, as well as literature, history, and philosophy. Colloquium Christi will provide an opportunity for research and dialogue, seeking both to promote scholarship and encourage students to grow in their clarity of communication and critical thinking abilities. It is our aim to set an example of both piety and learning, demonstrating how each can benefit and fortify the other.

If you are interested in presenting a paper at a Colloquium Christi meeting, you must submit a proposed paper topic by email. If approved, Colloquium Christi will work with you to determine at which meeting date you will present your paper. The final draft of your paper must be submitted two weeks prior to that meeting.

Once your final draft has been approved, a respondent will be assigned to you. This person will have time to thoroughly engage with your paper and prepare detailed comments, thoughts, and critiques. At the live meeting, they will follow your presentation with a thorough response.

Paper submissions must be typed and formatted according to the requirements of Kate L. Turabian’s Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations. The body of the paper must be 2,000–4,000 words (8–16 pages), double-spaced, one-inch margins, and 12-point Times New Roman font (10-point font for the footnotes). The word count does not include footnotes, which should not be read during the presentation. Citations are to follow the “Notes-Bibliography Style” set forth in chapters 16 and 17 of Turabian. If you have any questions about the formatting requirements, please send us an email.

All emails and inquiries should be directed to [email protected].
