📚🌟 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR SUMMER LITERACY CAMP! 🌟📚

El Refugio is looking for caring and enthusiastic volunteers to help support our Summer Literacy Camp from July 6–31 as we serve 60 students who need additional reading support this summer!

There are several opportunities to get involved:

🍎 Arrival & Breakfast Support
⏰ 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM
Help welcome students, assist with breakfast, and ensure everyone starts the day ready to learn.

🎨 Enrichment #1, Lunch, & Playground Support
⏰ 10:20 AM – 11:30 AM
Assist students during enrichment activities, lunchtime, and outdoor play. On rainy days, volunteers will help supervise indoor activity stations.
✔️ 4 enrichment stations
✔️ 2 adults per group

🎭 Enrichment #2, Snack, & Dismissal Support
⏰ 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Support students during afternoon enrichment activities, snack time, and dismissal. Community guests will be leading many of these activities.
✔️ 4 enrichment stations
✔️ 2 adults per group

✅ All volunteers working directly with students must be able to pass a background check.

No teaching experience is required—just a willingness to encourage, support, and have fun with our students! High school students, college students, community members, and families are welcome to volunteer.

Together, we can help children strengthen their literacy skills, build confidence, and create a memorable summer experience. ❤️

¡El Refugio está buscando voluntarios entusiastas y comprometidos para apoyar nuestro Campamento de Verano de Lectura del 6 al 31 de julio! Este verano estaremos sirviendo a 60 estudiantes que necesitan apoyo adicional para fortalecer sus habilidades de lectura.

Tenemos varias oportunidades para participar:

🍎 Apoyo durante la Llegada y el Desayuno

✅ Todos los voluntarios que trabajen directamente con los estudiantes deberán poder aprobar una verificación de antecedentes.

No se requiere experiencia docente; solo ganas de apoyar, motivar y divertirse con nuestros estudiantes. ¡Estudiantes de secundaria, universitarios, miembros de la comunidad y familias son bienvenidos a participar como voluntarios!

Juntos podemos ayudar a los niños a fortalecer sus habilidades de lectura, desarrollar confianza y disfrutar de una experiencia de verano inolvidable. ❤️

Good morning, Jacket Family! Please check out our 2026-2027 LCHS PTSO Officers!

We also need about 70 more hours at the PTSO Thrift Store to meet our minimum required hours. If you have time before June 25th, please help out.

Who can volunteer:
Anyone age 12 and over may volunteer for a member school but any child age 12-17 must be supervised by an adult who is also volunteering. Supervision shall be 1 child per 1 adult. An adult is defined as any person over age 21. Anyone over age 18 may work alone. Anyone under age 12 may not volunteer or accompany a volunteer. A volunteer does not have to have a child in the member school system in order to participate in this program.
