In partnership with Education First (EF) based out of Cambridge, Mass., SHS Abroad is offering once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities for seniors. During the February vacation of their senior year, students will travel abroad and take guided, professional tours to explore new places, people, histories, and cultures. Students will learn about their destination at the start of their junior year and

have approximately 16 months to make monthly payments toward their trip, all while collectively fundraising to pay for out-of-pocket expenses such as airport transportation and tips for our tour guides. For every six students that sign up, a teacher-chaperone is added to ensure safety and supervision. As a program, we help students prepare with passport information, travel etiquette, and more, all while getting to know our fellow travelers leading up to the trip. Welcome home our weary travelers and thank you for a glorious snow day for everyone to rest and get back on track. I wanted to put out a thank you to all our students, amazing parent travelers and to my incredible chaperones… we could NOT have been able to do this without all your hard work!! One more shout out to our daily blogger.. Kelly Foley for taking extra time each day to make sure everyone back home was able to experience our trip right alongside us because of your wonderful posts.

📍London, Day 2: We kicked off our London (and trip) finale with a guided bus tour past icons like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben in Westminster, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, and more. Along the way we learned about London’s resilience—from the Great Fire of London to the impact of WWII and how the city rebuilt stronger than ever. We also learned of the royalty and political leaders to grace their way through the last few centuries, and had many laughs along the way.

Then came nearly half a day of free time where students planned their own mini-adventures! Some searched out masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh and Rembrandt in The National Gallery, others explored Covent Garden and Soho, and plenty of shopping bags were filled along the way 🛍️

We wrapped up with authentic Indian food that surprised even the pickiest eaters—such a perfect ending to an unforgettable trip. Grateful for the memories, the laughter, and this incredible group ❤️

Last train 🚆 to London! We took the Eurostar to London and hit the ground running. Rainy skies cleared just in time for city views from the London Eye, a 443-ft observation wheel that slowly lifts you above the Thames for one of the best panoramas in the city. From the top we spotted Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and even Tower Bridge stretching across the skyline. Not a bad first stop in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿!

Rainy Day in Paris, Part 2 ☔🇫🇷

We spent lunch and free time near Montmartre—the artsy hilltop neighborhood once home to painters like Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh. Between winding cobblestone streets, little cafés, and views over the whole city, it’s easy to see why artists fell in love with this place. Some of us wandered past the white-domed Sacré‑Cœur Basilica, while others hunted for pastries and souvenirs. We even had some brave travelers try escargot! 🐌

We said goodbye to our wonderful bus drivers (labor laws!) and headed to the lively Latin Quarter, one of the oldest parts of Paris. From there, many of us visited the iconic Notre‑Dame Cathedral, while others explored the charming streets along the Seine.

We spent dinner at a cozy local spot (even our picky eaters were brave and tried it! 😄), followed by a jam-packed evening cruise on the Seine River. And yes… we saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle. A magical end to a very Parisian day. ❤️

Rainy day in France, Part 1: we made the most of every minute ☔🇫🇷

We kicked things off with a bus tour so we could see as much of Paris as possible—shoutout to our hilarious, thoughtful guides who kept us laughing while we learned about royalty, the French Revolution, and the stories behind landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and more.

🚌—> Paris & a too short trip to the Louvre! We squeezed in a whirlwind afternoon at the Louvre Museum, wandering past masterpieces and wishing for more time.

Dinner was cozy and delicious at Flam’s Bar & Restaurant, where we tried flammekueche—an Alsatian specialty like a thin, crispy flatbread 🍕. The location stole the show, sitting in a vibrant neighborhood and the restaurant itself was in the basement of an old cathedral!
