Nothing makes me happier than to hear such pride and happiness from my students, while receiving the joy of working with each and every one!

Shelly has come so far, studied so very hard and this was the last of our in-person classes she will have as we will both be relocating.

Our online classes will
continue as she surprises me with her excellent pronunciation and listening skills!

Bravo, my lovely student! You make the world shine! A+ 👏🏽😊🍏

Dear wonderful students,

Oh my goodness, you are all doing so swell with your "creative story writing" skills!

I know those of you who work with me one on one, are happy to be back to school and you're doing such a great job catching up!

Im always so happy to see your faces when you arrive!

Today I will be giving you some extra help with Adjectives, as many of you who use this site free from other countries, have asked for help through email.

As always please don't worry about all of the examples first. If it makes it easier for you please, first scroll down to the pictures, and then scroll back up for examples and to review 🙂 Most importantly, have fun!

Adjectives are words that give more information about a noun or pronoun and can go in different positions in a sentence. That make your verbal and written stories much more interesting and exciting!

Dear wonderful parents and students,

Now that school has begun in Phnom Penh, please let me know if you or your child may need some help with their homework or to catch up :)

Today, I thought we would start with some fun tips to help write better stories.

I have had so many questions about how to write great stories to hold the reader's attention, so let's get started.

If you want do see some examples before reading, please scroll down to the attachments first.

You've got this!

Step 1: Think of an idea
A good place to start is by reading a book you enjoy. Stop and ask yourself to come up with ideas about how the story might end. You can also write stories based on real‑life experiences, such as your first day of school, an adventure in the park or losing your first tooth.

Step 2: Create a character and a setting.
Think of a character and a setting. Will their main character be a child, an adult or an animal? Will the story be set in the local park, a different country or outer space? Use your imagination!

Step 3: The Beginning
All good stories have a beginning, middle and an end. Get creative to set the opening scene. What's special or different about your main character? Maybe it's a cat who enjoys taking baths, a superhero who can't fly or a princess who lives in a cave!

Step 4: The Conflict or problem
A story with no conflict or problem can be rather boring. You can even introduce a new character to shake things up!

Step 5: The Turning Point
The turning point is usually in the middle of the story and helps to make a story more interesting. It can be a "oh wow" moment, a time where a character discovers a hidden superpower or a surprise that throws the whole story into a spin or a big change. Think of something that the reader would never expect. It doesn't always have to make sense – this is your time to let your imagination take over, have fun with the "turning point".

Step 6: The Resolution
A good story doesn't finish without a final ending. Challenge yourself to link the conflict with the turning point to create a meaningful resolution.

Step 7: The End
A satisfying ending is the perfect way to finish a story. What happened to the characters once their conflict became resolved? Were you able to finally achieve something, or did you learn an important lesson as a result?

Please feel free to send mean email with any questions, if you are not my student in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

If you are interested in taking private tutoring from me in Phnom Penh, please email me at:

for a free evaluation for you or your child and receive your first hour free, if you sign up for the few openings I have at this time.

Have a great day!

Miss Hillary

I was quoted today in a great piece by the Khmer Times about online classes and how effective they are.

What are your thoughts?

Feel free to comment!

The poor quality of learning from the online classes has drawn the wrath of students and parents.

Due to recent bookings I no longer have any lesson spots available.

If you are interested in classes please contact me at [email protected] to join the waiting list.

In the meantime here’s one of my favourite videos from one of my classes.
