Maddy's Music Studio

The school term has started and I am so pleased to be teaching a few more flautists this term/yr! (Not that I don't love all my piano players too...)

We had such a FANTASTIC recital on Thursday!! I am so proud of everyone who took part, and for the support and continued efforts of parents. All the performances were excellent, well done!!

Excited to have a recital coming up at the end of April. It's been a little while since the last one. We have a majority of returning students with an exciting lineup of both classical and other genre including some jazz and a rag or two. It'll be great to see and compare the development from the last recital.

I'm sorry I've neglected writing on here for a while. The studio is gearing up for 2 events this April. I also wanted to say a big welcome to 2 new flutists who started last month. Event info to come.

I was excited to take part in an open mic night at a coffee shop with one of my students last weekend. I had a blast playing and doing backing vocals with Ashley Vanderlaan singing main vocals. We did 5 jazz/blues numbers. Well done Ashley! We'll have to start brainstorming our next set...

So excited to have a date set for a small gathering to drink some wine, eat some appetisers and hear some lovely piano music from my four adult students. Woohoo! Roll on September 18th!

There is an opportunity to see some very talented young pianists this Sunday at the Libby Gardner Hall on the U of U campus as part of the international piano festival. The concert is between 2 and 5pm, and I believe its free admission.

This is part of piano festival week hosted by the university music department, with piano master classes being held everyday.

Really proud of all my students who played/sung in Yesterday and Monday's recital. So much talent!! Well done everyone!!

I have just sent out emails for the spring recitals. It's a little different this Spring as there are going to be 3 for different age groups. There is an exciting lineup of music for all three, with some classical additions this year, as we were free of classical music in November. I'm so proud of all my students, they have really stepped up their practice routines to prepare. Well done parents for being supportive!!! This would not happen without you guys.

The Music Studio is finished!! Moved the piano this morning. So exciting!!!

As the new school year is just around the corner, the studio is getting busy!! I will also have studio space coming soon which I am super excited about. I will be able to offer studio lessons as well as in home lessons.
