Such an awesome Alta Choir final concert last night!! Students did a wonderful job with their songs, and what fun to even watch such playful pieces! This message is for parents and guardians of students at Alta High School. As police continue to investigate the SafeUT tip containing information that is being taken as a threat, Canyons District will err on the side of safety and cancel classes at Alta High on Thursday, May 14. AP testing that had been scheduled for Thursday also will be postponed. Information about the make-up testing day, as well as a make-up day for missed classes, will be sent at a later date. Information also is forthcoming about athletic competitions that were scheduled at Alta on Thursday afternoon. The decision to cancel classes Thursday is being made in an abundance of caution and hopefully will ease the minds of families who were concerned about the tip sent to the school. We recognize these circumstances may cause worry or anxiety in some students. When classes resume, counselors will be available if your student needs to process their thoughts and feelings.
