Consistency! Consistency in your singing voice is everything! If you don’t have it, well….what do you have?

sounding good every once in a while is amazing. Trust me when I finally hit that top note I’ve been aiming for, I’m thrilled. But if I can’t hit that top note every time I’m singing this song, what am I doing?

That’s what vocal technique is for. That’s what singing teachers are for. And that’s what we do in our lessons.

Learning who you are as an artist takes time and practice

And obviously learning your singing, voice and being comfortable with what it can do takes time and practice

Then getting them all together so you can be who you genuinely are on stage takes time and practice

Have multiple set lists available if you are a regular singing artist.

Tuesday's list may not work for Thursday's voice.

Having a back up plan is KEY!

Your voice will not be the same day to day, and when you wake up feeling like crap the peace you will feel (and the anxiety you don't feel) changes everything about your performing

Starting singing lessons can sometimes feel like a step (or 10) backwards.

I get it!!

Sometimes learning something new, and unlearning something that you've always done can throw you and your voice for a loop.

But if you are learning to 'mix' your voice, I can promise you this....those moments you feel like giving up, like your voice hates you, like maybe you should just go back to the way you are used to singing (even if it wasn't really great), with patience (and a great teacher) you WILL see and hear and feel the improvements

You just need to keep open communication with your teacher. Keep practicing, stay patient and know that learning anything new just takes time.
