We loved welcoming our 1st–5th grade Roadrunners back to Oakdale! From the red carpet entrances to reconnecting with friends and teachers, it was a great way to kick off a new school year.

Tomorrow, we get to do it all over again as we welcome our kindergarten Roadrunners for their first day!

Hello Oakdale! I have a bachelor’s degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) and a master’s degree in communication disorders. This will be my fifth year working as a speech-language pathologist with Canyons School District. I am so excited to get to know the Oakdale Community and the amazing students at this school. I am looking forward to a great school year!

Outside of school I love spending time with my family, hiking, skiing, and backpacking.

Meet Our Newest Roadrunner - Miss Shelby (PE Instructional Technician)

Hi roadrunners! My name is Miss Shelby. I am so excited to join the Oakdale team as the new PE teacher! I am currently in school studying elementary education through Southern Utah University. Prior to this, I taught preschool and dance for 5 years and have always had a passion for teaching kids and helping them enjoy being active and moving their bodies!

I am a mom to two boys, a 2 year old and a 2 month old! My house is busy and crazy and a whole lot of fun! We love to play outside, build things, and adventure as much as possible. I can’t wait for the awesome school year ahead!

Meet Our Newest Roadrunner - Mrs. Haymore (Kindergarten)

Hi families! I am so excited to join the community here at Oakdale Elementary and to welcome my new students to class. Kindergarten is such a magical milestone, and I feel so privileged to be a part of your child’s very first steps into elementary school.
I graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. This is my 12th year teaching kindergarten! I grew up in Virginia, but I’ve proudly called Utah home for over half my life.

When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me playing a lively game of pickleball, curling up with a good book, or spending time with family.
I deeply believe that a child's success is a team effort. You are your child’s first and most important teacher, and I look forward to working closely together with you to build a strong, joyful foundation for their future. My goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and exciting environment where your child feels confident to explore, learn, and grow every single day.

Thank you for trusting me with your children. I cannot wait for a wonderful year ahead!

Meet Our Newest Roadrunner - Mr. Cargle (1st Grade)

Hi, families! My name is Graham Cargle, and I’m so excited to be joining Oakdale Elementary as a first-grade teacher!

Originally from a small town in North Georgia, I’m completely new to Utah. I recently graduated from Western Governors University with a degree in Elementary Education. After high school, I spent nearly three years as an au pair in Spain, Germany, and Italy, where I discovered my passion for working with children and developed a love for languages and different cultures. Most recently, I worked as a language-qualified flight attendant based in New Jersey and Washington, D.C. My favorite layovers were Madrid and Munich!

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, photography, hiking, and spending time with family. I can’t wait to meet my students and their families, and I’m looking forward to a great school year!

Meet Our Newest Roadrunner - Ms. Day (5th Grade Teacher)

Hi Oakdale Elementary, my name is Ms. Day and I am so excited to join this community! I grew up in this area, and it is so special that I’m now able to serve here. I’ve earned my Bachelor and Masters degree from Westminster College and have worked in various roles in school settings at the elementary and higher education levels. This year, I’m excited to get to know the school community, make memories with my class, and celebrate the gift of learning! In my free time, I enjoy practicing ballet, cycling, crafting, and spending time with my orange tabby cat, George.

ROADRUNNER REWIND
Oakdale Staff Trading Cards were a major hit across our entire school community! Students loved crafting their own in art class, opening new packs, and trading with each other. Together, we discovered our staff's incredible superpowers, searched for rare cards, and gathered a collection of our favorite superheroes.
