The Patriots have returned. So many smiles and excitement to see our building upgrades. We spent lots of time building relational capacity. Our students were excited to spend their lunchtime in our new library.

Another new face joining our Eastmont Team.

Sasha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is currently working in Canyons School District’s alternative program, Youth Academy. Sasha has previous clinical experience providing mental health services for teenagers, families, women and children in domestic violence shelters, and supporting young children with behavioral needs and trauma. Sasha’s passions in social work include children with behavioral disorders, working with victims of domestic violence and providing trauma-informed care in schools and across various settings. Sasha has a Master’s in Social Work and a Masters in Special Education from the University of Utah. Sasha is married and has a 3 year old and she loves spending time at home with the people she cares about, traveling and eating out.

Another new face at Eastmont. Let’s welcome Jason Cogswell. He will be teaching science and digital literacy in our Youth Academy.

My name is Jason Cogswell and I love teaching. When I am not at school I am fly fishing, building Lego, or working on my koi pond. I strive to always have a good laugh and learn something new everyday. Stay curious!

Please give an awesome Eastmont welcome to Ms. Klonizos. She will be teaching 7th grade science.

I am thrilled to be joining the Eastmont community! I graduated from Westminster with a degree in elementary education and psychology. I spent the first part of my career working upper elementary grades, and am very excited to start teaching 7th grade science. During my summers I work as summer camp instructor at the Natural History Museum of Utah. As a middle school teacher, I look forward to inspiring my students to be the scientist of the future! Outside of school, I we enjoy spending time with my dog, going to comic con, and listening to all type of music.

We are beyond excited to welcome Coach Davis back to Eastmont. Coach Davis is returning to Eastmont after moving to Iowa two years ago. She brings a love for learning, students, and AVID. She has a heart of gold and builds genuine connections with students. Prior to leaving, she was recognized as the Canyons District Middle School teacher of the year. She will be working with students in our Check in/Check Out mentoring program, teaching PE and Study Skills. Welcome Back Coach, we can’t wait to hear your enthusiasm for learning in the hallways.

Please welcome Mrs. Crandall our new FCS and digital literacy teacher.

Hi! I’m Bethany Crandall and I can’t wait to teach Family and Consumer Sciences classes at Eastmont Middle School this next school year. I was born and raised in Utah and recently graduated with my bachelors degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Brigham Young University. I student taught for my last semester at BYU at Fort Herriman Middle School and Cottonwood High School. I’ve always dreamed of being a teacher and can’t wait to meet the students in this area. This summer I’ve been enjoying my time working at a kids sports camp, going for walks, binge watching The Other Bennett Sister, swimming, drinking Dr Pepper, watching my husband play lacrosse, and spending time with family. I’m passionate about food and creativity and look forward to the year ahead with all of you!

Meet Mrs. Peterson, our new health and PE teacher.

I love to be in motion, with the energy of others. Give me people and outdoors, I’m a happy gal. As a teacher I am constantly humbled by my students’ brilliant minds and tenacity of character.. there’s hope for the future! Through their questions and social interactions, I learn something new about being human each year. I love spending time with my family - my husband and I have 2 boys and I thoroughly enjoy witnessing first hand how different brothers are (I only have a sister). I am beyond excited and honored to be a part of the Eastmont community! I can’t wait to meet my students and work with what I hear is a remarkable group of educators!

Dr. Sydney Stringham
We would like to introduce you to Dr. Sydney Stringham, our new assistant principal (last names A-K). Dr. Stringham comes to us from Midvale Middle School. Before becoming an administrator, she worked as a research scientist and then taught middle and high school science classes at a STEM-focused 6th-12th school in Salt Lake City School District. She believes that science is an area that can easily bring all disciplines together and provides abundant opportunities to practice critical thinking, so she is especially excited to be part of a STEM-focused school community again.
She is also looking forward to learning more about the AVID program and seeing all the ways it supports students and their growth as learners. She is excited to learn the wonderful things about Eastmont’s culture and commitment to innovation and making choices that are best for students.
