Learning a second language from a young age not only opens social and future occupational opportunities, but studies have also shown that learning a second language from a young age helps children learn other academic subjects better! I founded Spanish in Bloom in 2011 to teach both Spanish language and culture appreciation to children in the Salt lake and Utah counties. Through the use of fun son
gs, dance and movements, activities and stories. These methods keep the students constantly engaged and interested. As an immersion program, Spanish is taught in the Spanish language and Spanish is used a minimum of 90% of the time in class. It not only teaches vocabulary but also language content through social situations that are important and interesting to children. My main goal is to foster a positive foreign language experience for each student :) I am originally from Chile, I am a proud mother of 3 bilingual children, and I have a passion for teaching my first language and sharing my culture. I have taught Spanish to children for almost 5 years now. I learned a second language as a child also so I can relate to your children. I have always spoken Spanish at home so I consider myself a native Spanish speaker. I have a BA degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish.
