Ok guys, this is why I teach fractions and decimals! REAL LIFE MATH!!! Somebody programmed My Fitness Pal with the wrong fraction to decimal conversion, and now everyone else is using it 😂 🤦‍♀️ 2/3 of a cup is NOT 0.75 cups!!! Let’s get back to 5th grade 🙌

“The Bible is not an encyclopedia, but a story of God’s plan to rescue hopeless and helpless humanity. It’s a story about people who are rescued from their own self-sufficiency and wisdom and transported to a kingdom where Jesus is central and true hope is alive.” -Paul David Tripp

I’ve been in awe lately at the masterpiece of literature called the Bible. We use it in pieces, strung together to make a point, rather than as a whole work of literature.

The Bible is the story of humanity being restored to God. We see this from Eden to the atonement of Jesus Christ, yes. But we also see it in the story of Israel. A broken covenant. A broken marriage. Centuries of scattering and cyclical sinning. But over and over, their prophets pointed to a time of unity, peace, and restored sovereignty under a great Davidic King.

Then with the law of Moses, we see a glimmer of being restored to God. Symbols and shadows, hints pointing to Christ, who would ultimately do what the goat blood could not. It was all just a shadow pointing to the real thing.

Next school year, I will be teaching homeschooled teens like your own all about this. We will learn the literature of the Bible, from the imagery and symbols, metaphor and verse, to the Mosaic types and shadows. How did Christ fulfill all these things? How did the characters in the Old Testament point to Christ (you’ll be amazed! It’s not just Moses and Joseph, but dozens more!) How did and will Jesus fulfill prophecy, finally uniting Israel after thousands of years, that their enemies will have power over them no longer? How can we become part of that too?

We will be meeting Fridays 10:30-11:30 Mountain time, September through April. If that time doesn’t work for you, class recordings will be available (also, for the use of public school students or parents!)

The cost is $320 for the school year. Homeschoolers can call this a literature or a history class, to earn their credits.

There are 4 videos for new students to watch first, which they can start anytime (or do the last couple weeks of August!)

Please reach out to me if you’re interested! Message here on FB or call/text 503-798-5771.
