Last month we explored the vibrant world of artist Henri Matisse, and his unique style of “painting with scissors.” ✂️🎨

The children learned how Matisse loved to create bold, colorful artwork by cutting shapes from paper and arranging them into beautiful designs. Inspired by his creativity, we created our own collage using a variety of fabrics and textures. We loved exploring each different medium with our fingers!

As we cut, arranged and glued our materials, we were also strengthening our fine motor skills and practicing careful hand coordination. It was wonderful to see the children so focused, creative, and proud of their work.

We loved learning about Matisse and expressing ourselves through art in such a fun and hands-on way! 💛

🌱 Growing Little Minds & Green Thumbs! 🌱

We are exploring the wonders of how plants grow! ☀️ 💦 🌱 Our little learners are observing seeds, soil, sunlight, and water in action—discovering how life sprouts from the tiniest beginnings. We first explored the parts of a fava bean and the life cycle of a plant. We worked together to map out the planting of our vegetables, taking care to note which veggies grow best together. Soon we were rolling up our sleeves and planting our very own garden! 🎃 🥕 🍅 🥒 🥦 Each child will get hands-on experience nurturing our little piece of land.

We’re so excited to watch both our plants and gardening knowledge grow together—rooted in curiosity, care, and love! 💚

We blinked and summer was just about over! We had a great time and look forward to a bright school year ahead. We wish all of our friends moving on to kindergarten the best of luck in their next adventure, and can’t wait to welcome new friends! 👫

🌿🌱🍂🌞 This fall we will be busy working in our new greenhouse and preparing our new garden for the spring! We will also be enjoying lots of nature walks on our brand new walking trail. 😀 🍁 🌳 🪴
