Goodbye!
Today was the first day in 13 years, where I wasn’t Todd Downing, Sandusky Elementary Athletics and Activities.
It was an absolute honor to build SEAA into everything it is. More importantly was the life I got to share with so many Sandusky families, especially the kids!
I want to thank Gene Sanders for hiring me so long ago and trusting me to Build Better Dreams for our families and community! An ethos I carried till the end with SEAA.
I was in charge of over 30 paid coaches. We had competitive traveling teams in cheer, football, basketball, swimming, and volleyball. With plenty organized other biddy offerings and camps in many other sports and clubs.
I started off with 0$ in an account. I ended with around 20k steadily each year with income from concessions, which were all run by kids who volunteered, student fees, hosting games and tournaments.
Our kids have top of the line equipment. Basketball has brand new uniforms and balls, football has new game jerseys, shoulder pads and larger equipment. Our volleyball program has all new balls, carts, and other larger coaching equipment. The other sports have all the equipment they need and we supply the intermediate school with PE equipment and help pay for all the wall and door logos/decals you see.
I have built solid relationships with great vendors. Tom’s trophies, pizza house east, loris printing, BSN sports, C&C Donuts and many more. They helped make SEAA look good and taste good!
This year was the first year we had an actual Sandusky Youth JO volleyball team at Cedar point Sports Center. SEAA dontaed $2,000 dollars to the team and gave them a place to practice.
I built a volleyball league for the girls! I manage the Sandusky Bay Youth Volleyball League that allows 4th, 5th, and 6th grade girls to play competitively for their school teams in a learning league and travel for free.
There are so many other great things we have done over the years. I was never perfect. But I always did everything the best I could, with the best coaches we could get. Always with the children’s best interests in mind!
I did all of this because of you!
ALL OF YOU!
From the coaches, refs, game workers, school staff who supported us.
To all the businesses and people who donated money, bought from our concessions, participated in the many fundraisers our kids pedaled throughout the community.
All the SEAA families and kids currently, and those in SMS, SHS, and our alumni who participated in our programs, who stepped up to help work or coach these programs!
To everyone of you here on our page who helped communicate market and share our information!
Thank you Sandusky!
For allowing me to be a part of your lives. For supporting all the things we did and will continue to do!
We all are SEAA!
I will miss the moments of all the little faces. The smiles, the tears, and all the emotions a young athlete goes through. The sounds and smells of youth sports…
Most of all YOU!
Thank You
Goodbye!
As always!
Let’s Go Streaks!
