💗💜 October: A Month of Awareness, Support & Action

October gives us an important opportunity to bring attention to two issues that impact women, families, and communities every day: Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Awareness.

💗 Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminds us that early detection matters. We encourage women to know their bodies, complete recommended screenings and mammograms, learn their family history, and encourage the women they love to prioritize their health.

💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month reminds us that abuse can happen in any community and that survivors deserve to be heard, believed, supported, and safe. Domestic violence can include physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, and financial abuse, as well as intimidation, isolation, and coercive control.

Throughout October, Building Constructive Communities Foundation and The Black Love Hub stand together to raise awareness, share resources, support survivors, honor those we have lost, and encourage our community to take action.

Check on the people you love. Get screened. Know the signs. Share resources. Support survivors. Speak up.

There is strength in awareness, power in community, and hope in knowing that you are not alone. 💗💜

BCCF and The Black Love Hub remind our community that asking for help is a sign of strength. Your life matters, your feelings matter, and your story isn’t over.

🌸 Ladies, September is for SISTERHOOD!
The BCCF Sister Circle is gathering again, and we’re inviting women of all ages and walks of life to come enjoy an afternoon created for connection, laughter, creativity, and community. 💜

This month, we’re putting the heavy conversations aside for a little FUN! Come ready for games 🎲, music 🎶, shirt pressing 👕, delicious food 🍽️, fellowship 🤎, and plenty of laughter! Meet new sisters, reconnect with familiar faces, compete in some friendly games, and simply enjoy being in a space where women can relax and be themselves.

We gathered in sisterhood, creativity, and laughter to turn mannequin heads into living planters. Today’s Sister Circle was all about connection — sharing stories, and making beautiful upcycled art together. Each planter is a unique expression of the creativity and care in this room.
Huge thanks to everyone who joined, to our facilitators, and to Building Constructive Communities Foundation for hosting a space where art, sisterhood and community can grow.
