Morgan is an 18-year-old Camelot Macaw who was hatched with a foot defect—and it’s never slowed her down. She’s learned to move, perch, and interact with the world in her own way, reminding us every day that adaptability is a powerful thing 💛

Her story is a beautiful example of how birds don’t need to be “perfect” to live full, confident lives—they just need understanding, patience, and the chance to thrive.

However, she’s also a reminder not to support improper breeding practices. Parrots are the fourth most popular pet in the entire world, but the number one most rehomed, consider adoption whenever possible.

Chief is a 13-year-old Blue-throated Macaw, an endangered species, and I’m now his third home. His previous owner loved him deeply but could no longer care for him due to her age—one of the many quiet, heartbreaking reasons birds like Chief so often need a new start.

Project birds aren’t “problem birds.” They’re birds who outlived circumstances, people, or situations… and still deserve stability, enrichment, and a future filled with choice and care 🤍
