π΅ Letβs Make Today More Fun Than A Barrel Of Monkeys! π
Did you know that June 14th is Monkey Around Day?
Celebrate by visiting your local zoo, enjoying a tasty banana, or making this sweet monkey craft!
Hereβs what you need:
π Cardstock β brown & tan
π Small googly eyes
π Green pipe cleaner
π Pink paint
π Black marker
π Glue
Hereβs what you do:
1. Trace a handprint from brown cardstock, ensuring the fold aligns with the pinky edge.
2. Assemble the head from brown cardstock & glue a tan paper face to it.
3. Assemble monkey ears from brown and tan cardstock, then attach them to the head.
4. Use a black marker for the nose & mouth and pink paint for the cheeks.
5. Glue googly eyes above the nose & mouth.
6. Attach the head to the thumb of the handprint.
7. Add a tail to the back of the card & a green pipe cleaner to the fingers.
8. Help your child write a cute message inside & your card is complete!
Tracing, drawing, and writing help strengthen their fine motor skills while boosting their creativity, imagination, and artistic skills.
Add fun facts to the conversation, like:
- Monkeys have BIG brains!
- Monkeys use tools to open nuts and dig up ants!
- Some monkeys like a nice, hot bath!
