This is my last week as the Kitchen Manager at Sand Creek Elementary. When I 1st started I was the lunchroom monitor, and some of those 6th grade students now have children in kindergarten. My own children have graduated and are almost done with college.
I worked my way through every job in the kitchen, even took a year off to be a paraprofessional with a student, also did some subbing for playground and the offices, before I took over for my mom when she retired. I built on the great start that she had begun when she started in the kitchen after a few years on the playground. She worked over 35 years for the school. Although only have around half as many years, I am taking a break from the public school life. I am not old enough to retire, even though students may think my age ranges anywhere from 108-18, haha!
I will be spending my time now working on our family farm and focusing on what some call, my side hustles! We raise freezer beef (around 40 head), have honey bees (15 hives or so), do maple syrup and I have a freeze dry candy business. My husband and our family grow Corn, Soybeans and Wheat, so I will be driving tractors, getting parts, making meals, paying bills, and doing paperwork(Excel spreadsheets are my fav)!
I will miss all the students, co-workers and the many families I have met over the years!! You will still me around the schools, I am a Senior Class Advisor, my husband is on the School Board and I have 7 nieces and nephews that are at the school or will be starting at the school soon!

Miss Taylor made “Candy Corn” fruit cups for our Halloween Lunch. They were mandarin oranges, pineapple and a little whip cream on the top!

Thursday October 12th was the 10th annual Great Apple Crunch Day. So we had lots of little Aggies crunching on apples!
