Tammy has over 30 years of experience in business, education, and professional development-related fields. She has been a teacher, principal, keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, school improvement coordinator, coach for individuals and teams, and a consultant through restructuring and reform efforts for every grade level K-16. She considers herself a โ€œthought leader and agent of changeโ€ - always looking at ways of improving her own performance as well as facilitating the growth of others. Her professional mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of others by collaborating, increasing knowledge and skills, and inspiring learners to grow and develop into their best selves. This includes working with teachers, administrators, schools, districts, and the business and larger community to create equity and close the achievement gaps that exist between various student groups who are often under-served: students of color, students in poverty, and exceptional learners.

Her ultimate goal is to assist educators in providing a world-class education for ALL students, one in which each student is an engaged participant who recognizes his/her responsibility and contribution to society as a whole. This means rigorous, relevant instruction and a service-oriented global perspective, which enables the next generation to solve the myriad of problems that exist in our world today.

Tammy has always been an active community member and serves on advisory councils, and state-level boards, and volunteers whenever and wherever she is able. Tammyโ€™s accolades include being selected Teacher of the Year in California as well as being nominated for Colorado Principal of the Year. However, her biggest professional distinctions arise when the students, teachers, and leaders ultimately serve, grow, excel, and are recognized for their outstanding efforts and performance.

Tammy lives in San Tan Valley with two humans and five four-legged furry friends. She is a mom to three adult children and Grandma to one amazing grandson, all of whom also live in STV. When she's not working with schools, children, and the community, she can usually be found enjoying the outdoors.

Sherri Jones has worked with or on behalf of young children for over 20 years in Arizona. Her experience has included after-school lead teacher, school-age enrichment program manager, early childhood specialist, program coordinator, leadership coach, and program development specialist. She has been a part of the Arizona Department of Economic Security (ADES) and First Things First (FTF) funded programs, including coordinating a statewide ADES-funded quality improvement program supporting private and public school early childhood education programs with pursuing national accreditation.

Having spent over fifteen years in the non-profit organization sector, Sherri brings valuable skills for community engagement, relationship building, and networking across Arizona's rural, urban, and tribal communities. She has been a part of statewide initiatives focused on children from birth through school age, supporting continuing education for educators and a variety of concerns impacting Arizona families. Sherri currently works for the State of Arizona, overseeing several federally funded statewide contracts focused on a variety of topics impacting children, professional development for educators, and family support resources.

On the School Board, Sherri will focus on ensuring every child has an opportunity to succeed, that policies work to close the student achievement gap, and that decisions are made transparently so parents, teachers, and the community all have a voice in the decision-making process. Sherri is committed to ensuring that FUSD has a safe, inclusive school environment, proper fiscal management of the budget, protection of the arts, and support for higher education and career skill building that are critical to student education and success.

Sherri was born and raised in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Southern New Jersey area. She moved to Arizona in 1995, later making San Tan Valley home, in 2004. She is a proud graduate of Arizona State University, where she studied Family Resources and Human Development.

Roger Biede is a 12-year resident of Florence and was elected to the Florence Unified School District Governing Board in January 2021. Currently, Roger is the Executive Director of the Florence Chamber of Commerce. He has seen the Florence/San Tan areas grow exponentially and while FUSD expands, he wants to ensure that our future leaders have the education to lead that growth in the future. Being a part of and working with the Governing Board is a natural complement to his dedication and service to the Community. Roger brings valuable experience and leadership to the challenges facing the District and is honored to be a part of making positive and equitable changes for the benefit of every student.

Roger and his wife have raised two sons and a springer spaniel in San Tan Valley. He volunteers on the Boards of the Pinal County Historical Society, the Friends of the Casa Grande Ruins, George Roskruge Masonic Library and Museum, McFarland State Park, and Gila Valley Lodge No. 9 F. & A.M.. He is active as part of the Town of Florence Strategic Planning Committee, and the local merchant Main Street programs, and can often be found around the District at many events.
