Jim Childress Memorial CLE and Golf Tournament Annual CLE and Golf Tournament in San Saba, Texas. Named for it's founder, Jim Childress. Occurs first Friday in May.

Jim Childress, founder of the View From The Bench CLE and Golf Tournament, had a vision of local attorneys and judges developing relationships that would allow them to better serve their communities. Jim hosted the first CLE in 2000 and the CLE has occurred each year since. With the loss of Jim Childress in 2016, the CLE was renamed to the Jim Childress Memorial CLE and Golf Tournament. The desire

is to continue Jim's mission of improving the local legal community through education and fellowship.

As you can see from the photos below, the 2017 Jim Childress Memorial CLE and Golf Tournament was a great day for all who attended. We received great education from our Judges and speakers, enjoyed a delicious fajita lunch courtesy of San Saba's own Pepperbelly's Restaurant, and a gorgeous day to embarass ourselves on the San Saba River Golf Course. Mark your calendars now to join us on May 4, 2018 for our next CLE.

Thanks to the near 40 attendees and especially to our great speakers: Judge Allan Garrett, Judge Evan Stubbs, Judge Stephen Ellis, Judge Sam Moss, Judge Cheryl Mabray, and State Bar of Texas Director, Jeff Chandler. Also want to thank Justice Bob Pemberton for attending and speaking on our Judge's panel.
