Get fired up!🔥 Experience the thrilling process of raku firing! Raku is a low-temperature firing process inspired by traditional Japanese techniques.

The hot pottery is removed from the kiln during the firing and immersed in combustible materials which cover the surface of the ceramics and react with the glazed and unglazed areas.

The results are instantaneous and excitingly unpredictable!

THIS IS A 3-PART WORKSHOP:
August 17th (Intro at Amphora)
and September 14th (The glaze meeting)
October 5th (The firing)

All meetings of this workshop will take place at Amphora Ceramics Studio in San Rafael. You must make your own bisqueware. 

$150 per person

🏺Reminder: This week is Summer Break from classes @ Amphora!

🙌🏻 Members: did you know we offer Summer Flex Passes?! This is a fantastic way to get creative clay time without worrying that you’re paying for time and space when you won’t be in-town to use it.

⚱️Our 5-week classes for Session 5 are enrolling now. Join us for a daytime or evening class. Options are available for all levels - no experience required. Classes begin on 7/6. The following session will open for enrollment on that day as well.

We have lots of options! Get in touch if you need help finding the best fit for yourself or your group. We also offer 1:1 classes if that’s your speed.

We offer one-time classes, perfect for an evening out, as well as 5 & 6-week courses that are great for finding your center over time. Daytime and evening courses are also available! Or, book a semi-private event just for your group.

Connect with others in a fun and educational environment while you play with clay! Deepen your understanding and expand your skills in a 5 or 6 week course at Amphora.*

Beginners are welcome, and our instructors can support through an intermediate level, with options for advanced students, too.

Whether you’re interested in working on the wheel or hand building off of the wheel, there’s something for everyone.

Once you’re comfortable with what you’ve learned in courses, membership becomes an option, so there’s always a place for you in our community.^

*Most of our courses are 6 weeks, with 2, 5-week courses over the summer!
