⭐️Alumni Series: Lee-Ming Zen ‘98⭐️ After graduating from Mark Day and Crystal Springs Uplands School, Lee-Ming received his bachelor’s and his master’s in computer science, specializing in artificial intelligence, from Stanford. Alongside a newfound passion for sports broadcasting, he pursued a career in tech and is now the Chief Technology Officer for Yahoo. When he thinks about his time at Mark Day, he remembers PE teacher Ray Orwig and the daily runs, the computer lab, and the friendships that left a lasting mark. ⭐️Alumni Series: Dan Pardi ‘89 ⭐️ Following Mark Day, Dan attended Branson and USF, where he developed a serious interest in health sciences. After earning his master’s, he joined the Preventive Medicine Research Institute at UCSF, working alongside alum parent Dean Ornish to research how intensive lifestyle interventions could influence the progression of disease. A decade in the pharmaceutical industry led him to study neuroscience at both Stanford and Leiden University in the Netherlands. He founded his own health tech company, humanOS.me, which has since been acquired, and now serves as Chief Health Officer at Qualia Life Sciences. He credits Mark Day with encouraging a deep curiosity about how the body works. Outside of his career, Dan enjoys jui jitsu and spending time with his family.

⭐️ Alumni Series: Rebecca S. ‘13 ⭐️ At Mark Day, Rebecca learned to lead and become more comfortable expressing herself. These lessons followed her to Marin Academy and then to Middlebury College, where it felt natural for her to engage in discussions, share opinions, and ask questions. Mark Day also sparked a curiosity in the wider world, and she studied abroad in Uganda and traveled to many places including Bolivia, Peru, Guatemala, and more. ⭐️ Alumni Series: Avik B ‘12 ⭐️ Since graduating from Mark Day in 2012, Avik’s life has been filled with creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning—values that took root during his time here. In college at UC Irvine, he was Student Council head and part of a dance team. Now, he’s a Senior Lead / Software Developer at Bank of Montreal.
