Every year, Vaux’s Swifts (rhymes with “foxes”) return to old, decommissioned chimneys along their journey to wintering grounds in Central America. At dusk, they gather into a mesmerizing vortex of wings, swirling through the sky before funneling into the chimneys for the night—a breathtaking ritual of migration. 🐦✨⁣

Unsure of final count but maybe 100k!!! I’ve never seen soooooooooooo many!

Is your yard nutty? Gather some for WildCare, leave some for the wildlife!

Calling all Marin residents! 🍂

WildCare’s Wildlife Hospital is caring for a high number of growing patients - baby squirrels, raccoons, opossums, and more - and they’ve eaten through our supply of natural foods!

We’re seeking donations of items like acorns, bay nuts, oak galls, and other seasonal foods (see photo). To prevent the spread of sudden oak death, we can only accept materials collected within Marin County.

📍 Donations may be dropped off at WildCare’s Interim Site near 37 Schmidt Lane, San Rafael
🕙 Any day of the week, 10 am – 4 pm

Your contribution helps nourish the next generation of wild animals in our care.
