A few of our Bahia Vista staff members are spending the week at the California PBIS Conference! 🐉💙💛 They’re learning, collaborating, and bringing back new ideas to continue building a positive, supportive, and inclusive school community for all of our Dragons! ➕🎲 Math is more fun when we play together! Mrs. Cherian’s 1st graders have been having a blast playing math games to practice their addition facts! Through hands-on learning, our little mathematicians are building their math fluency, confidence, and teamwork skills! 🐉💙

🛒🍎 Grand Opening Day in TK! 🎉
Our TK students are kicking off their Grocery Store unit, and today their classroom grocery stores officially opened for business! Students are learning through play as they shop, stock shelves, work the register, and take on different roles in their very own stores. 🥕🥛🧃
We can’t wait to see all the learning, creativity, and fun that happens throughout this unit! 🐉💙

🛒🍎 ¡Gran inauguración en TK! 🎉
Nuestros alumnos de TK están dando comienzo a su unidad didáctica sobre la tienda de comestibles, ¡y hoy han abierto oficialmente sus tiendas de comestibles en el aula! Los alumnos aprenden jugando mientras compran, reponen los estantes, atienden la caja registradora y asumen diferentes roles en sus propias tiendas. 🥕🥛🧃
¡Estamos deseando ver todo lo que aprenderán, la creatividad que demostrarán y lo bien que se lo pasarán a lo largo de esta unidad! 🐉💙

👁️🔬 Science in action! Our 4th/5th graders in Mrs. MacKay’s class wrapped up their science unit on information processing and living things with an exciting culminating activity—a cow eye dissection!
Students had the opportunity to observe the different parts of the eye up close and connect what they’ve been learning in class to a real-life example. They recorded their observations and reflected on what they noticed and wondered along the way. 🧠👀
What an engaging way to bring science learning to life! 🐉✨

🔬 ¡La ciencia en acción! Nuestros alumnos de 4.º y 5.º de primaria de la clase de la Sra. MacKay pusieron el broche final a su unidad de ciencias sobre el procesamiento de la información y los seres vivos con una emocionante actividad culminante: ¡la disección de un ojo de vaca!
Los alumnos tuvieron la oportunidad de observar de cerca las diferentes partes del ojo y relacionar lo que han estado aprendiendo en clase con un ejemplo de la vida real. What a great evening of learning and connection! 📱💻🐉
Thank you to all of our Bahia Vista families who joined us for our digital literacy parent workshop presented by ScreenSense. Families came together to learn practical strategies for navigating technology, social media, online safety, and screen time with their children.
We loved seeing our families learning, connecting, and having important conversations together. A special thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible! 💙

Gracias a todas las familias de Bahia Vista que se unieron a nosotros en nuestro taller para padres sobre alfabetización digital, impartido por ScreenSense. Las familias se reunieron para aprender estrategias prácticas sobre cómo abordar la tecnología, las redes sociales, la seguridad en línea y el tiempo frente a la pantalla con sus hijos.

We were so excited to recognize students with Dragon Excellence Awards for their achievements in Academics 📚✨ and Growth Mindset 🌱💪. These Dragons have shown hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to learning and growing!

🌎💚 What a wonderful way to end our Multicultural Heritage Spirit Day! Our school community came together after school for a Multicultural Potluck filled with delicious food, connection, and celebration. 🥘🌮🍚🥟
Thank you to all of our families and staff who brought dishes to share and helped us celebrate the many cultures and traditions that make our Bahia Vista community so special. We loved seeing everyone come together! 🐉💚🌎

Today our Dragons celebrated the many cultures and traditions that make our school community so special! 🐉✨ Students were invited to wear clothing representing their culture or heritage and show off their outfits during our Multicultural Fashion Show at recess! 👗🎉
We loved seeing our students proudly share and celebrate who they are while learning about the cultures represented throughout our school community. 🌍❤️

¡Hoy nuestros Dragones han celebrado las numerosas culturas y tradiciones que hacen que nuestra comunidad escolar sea tan especial! 🐉✨ Se invitó a los alumnos a ponerse ropa que representara su cultura o sus raíces y a lucir sus atuendos durante nuestro desfile de moda multicultural en el recreo. 👗🎉

Today, our 3rd–5th grade Dragons exercised their voices and voted for this year’s Student Council! 🎉 Students bravely stepped up to run for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Spirit Leader, sharing their ideas and showing what student leadership looks like. 💚
We are so proud of every student who ran for office and put themselves out there! 👏 Stay tuned for the results! 🐲✨

⛵️🌊 Our 5th graders set sail on their first field trip of the year with Call of the Sea! 💚
Students had the opportunity to get out on the water, learn about sailing and the marine environment, and work together through hands-on experiences aboard the boat. What a memorable way to bring learning to life beyond the classroom! 🌊⚓️
Thank you to Call of the Sea, our teachers, and our chaperones for making this incredible experience possible for our 5th grade Dragons! 🐉💚
