This is what a day in the life of a Marine Mammal Responder looks like these days. I got into the field to study LIFE in the ocean, but lately, there seems to be much more death. Each day, we stand—with sandy shoes and salty, crusted skin—on the fragile fulcrum between life and death, hoping that more people will wade into the surf and join us in tipping the scales toward a healthy ocean and give life back into marine biology.
