Hello friends and family!
It’s September, and that is the annual fundraising month for the CCC Music Department. We’ve had a terrific year, and are looking towards another outstanding season.
For the students in the Music Department, we hope that you will consider supporting this inspiring community. Any amount is appreciated. Since we are largely self-funded, we rely on this September fundraiser, and are so grateful to each and everyone who supports us in any way possible.
Funds raised provide for purchases of music, costumes, accompanists, equipment, festivals and performances. This year’s Eventbrite link is:

2025-26 was a fabulous year, featuring many highlights within our program.
As part of our Fall Video Concert, JAZZ-ology produced a student video, which used home recordings and home video.
Our partnership with the Dean and Margaret Lesher Foundation created a student produced Children's Concert Video.
In April, we performed a concert “In the Round” featuring scenes from various Operas and Wicked.
In May, the Music Department hosted its fourth annual Contra Costa College Music Day featuring performances and demonstrations from our entire department.
In addition to numerous department concerts, JAZZ-ology and JazzaNova gave a free outdoor performance at 4th Street in Berkeley.
Shortly after, JAZZ-ology received a special surprise by winning the DownBeat Student Music Award for Best Vocal Jazz Group. This is the twelfth win since 2013 for our program.
May featured Jazz Night which featured performances from College Chorus, Jazz Piano, Jazz Guitar, Jazz Singers, JazzaNova, JazzEtte and JAZZ-ology.
At Jazz Night, the Jazz Vocal Program released its eighth professional album, End of the Game, available on Amazon and Apple Music.
Finally, In June, JAZZ-ology closed out the year with a special performance at the prestigious Lesher Center in Walnut Creek. Facebook Post.
This fundraising drive is so important because we plan equipment and performances based on proceeds raised in September. Last year, we experienced a large budget shortfall due to institution-wide cuts. This has put our 2026-27 performance operational ability at huge risk. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support our serious, dedicated, and talented students. We please ask that if you find yourself in a position to give even a dollar that you will help us reach our goals. You will make an impact on the lives of so many deserving students.
