The Puente Club is both an academic and non-academic club, and promotes personal and academic development.
Puente Club at College of San Mateo encourages and aids underrepresented students to transfer to a 4 year institution by: sharing on campus opportunities through events, connecting Puente students, raising money for scholarships, advocating involvement on campus and larger community, recruiting Puentistas, and creating a familia-support system.

Puentistas mark your calendars for this UC Berkeley Empowerment Day Event!
"Transfer Empowerment Day (TED) is a conference hosted by the RAZA Recruitment and Retention Center at UC Berkeley in which current community college students and already transferred students can come together and network their resources. This year we are excited to be working in collaboration with UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and San Francisco State University. TED is meant to encourage current community college students to transfer into a four year university as well as create a networking system for students who have already transferred. We have workshops ranging from admissions to housing to undocumented student information. This conference is completely free for registered students."

Puentistas, as you all know tomorrow the Puente Class is going to El Dia de los Mu***os event at Fruitvale Village in Oakland! This event is open to everybody who wants to know more about how Day of the Death is celebrated in some Latin countries! Come join us as some of the Puente Club members will also attend!! If anybody is willing to go but doesn't have a ride, let me know ASAP, so we can meet somewhere to carpool! I believe the event is all day, but you are more than welcome to leave early in case you have something else going on! Thank you! Si se puede!!
