The occasion honored the unpaid work that sustains the campus. Volunteers are the heartbeat of the SMACE campus, and the school continues to express deep gratitude for the time, care, and energy given to the community.
Many thanks to all the staff and teachers who support our SMACE volunteers and our wonderful Student Ambassador program!!

This week, SMACE held its very first Free Flea Market, and it was a massive success!
We hosted this event to fight waste by keeping usable goods out of landfills, ease economic stress for our community, promote sustainability, and build stronger community ties—all without the barrier of money. It was an incredible way to support our amazing students and staff.
A Massive Thank You to Our Team:
🌟 Tia Marlowe: For taking the lead and organizing this event.
📋 Assistant Director Romany Corella: For managing the practicalities and keeping operations smooth.
🤝 Director Angela Taylor: For her enthusiastic support and generous donations.
Special Thanks to Our Supportive Staff & Teachers:
We could not have done this without the dedicated help of Shohreh Bahmanyar, Jessica Giambruno, Mali Wolff, Maria Bolanos, Lisa Sparks, Carlota Zuniga, Katherine Guardia, Edgar Figueroa, and Garrett Wolffkin. Thank you all for stepping up for our community!

SMACEs Green Team created a poster to educate our students about ways to protect the environment. Our Green Team empowers our students and staff to become environmental conscious and seek out ways to be sustainable. It provides opportunities to educate, raise awareness and engage with pressing environmental issues inside and outside the classroom. Information on how to join is provided in the flyer.

San Mateo Pride's Ishani Dugar presented a concise but well-rounded summary of the resources available to the LGBTQ+ community and allies to an avid audience of students and faculty. Listeners posed questions and walked away with knowledge and rainbow swag. We are grateful to San Mateo Pride and all the people and organizations making this world better for all of us! 🌈 All month we'll have a table set up for folks to access resources and grab an ally pin!
