At The Garden, every day is bring your baby to work day!

05/06/2023

While The Garden by Equal Play was lost to COVID, there is a formula for building and running a place like this that I will happily share with anyone who is interested in creating a space like this in her town. These spaces should be in every city, and they can be! This company was a beautiful prototype and it proved that the concept worked! People reported very high productivity and also enormous peace of mind. Children were excited to arrive each day, thanks to phenomenal caregivers and the kids' understanding that they were very near to their parents. Reach out for a playbook on how to open a space like this, please! It was a wonderful thing to create and I am determined to help other entrepreneurs launch these kinds of offerings. Love, Katie

While weathering the pandemic and missing Equal Play with a ferocity that sometimes floors me, I’ve been volunteering for the Center for WorkLife Law at my alma mater. In this way I’ve been able to continue to serve working patents. People facing adverse employment actions due to COVID and family responsibilities call us and we advise them. It’s pretty fulfilling, even if it’s light on toddler interactions. Yesterday, the team sent me tulips from female founded and it felt pretty great. Yesterday I also received the beautiful paper art from the inestimable Tien Teng, and so I had to share. Sending love and solidarity to all of you, Katie

Quick reminder from Baby T: The house doesn’t have to be super tidy to enjoy having friends over. 💯🥰❤️

7 Reasons Why Teaching Children Kindness is Essential 11/13/2019

Hello friends! We are looking for research into a foundational value here at Equal Play: kindness. We believe treating children first and foremost with kindness creates the best opportunities for early emotional and intellectual growth. Let us know if you have strong feelings about this, please. And if you have studies or know of them, please send them our way!

7 Reasons Why Teaching Children Kindness is Essential Selfless acts of giving provide physical and emotional benefits needed for a well-rounded individual. This is why it is essential for children to learn kindness early on.
