Four years flew by, but some things stay the same. 🐴💙
Yesterday, the Class of 2022 made their way back to EDS and whether they walked through our doors in person or dialed in from across the country via FaceTime, the energy was unmistakable. Who would have thought the enthusiasm would be so high even all these years and many different high schools later? Clearly, this community doesn't shrink with distance, it just stretches, and we are so proud of the strength of the bonds forged at EDS.
Class of 2022, watching you reunite with your classmates and old teachers reminded us exactly why this place is so special. We are so proud of you and all of the incredible plans you have for this Fall! From NYU, BU, BC, Tulane, UChicago, UCLA, Northeastern, TCU, and beyond, we can't wait to bear witness to all of the incredible things you will accomplish. The seeds you planted here are blooming in the most beautiful ways, and we could not be more proud to call you Mustangs.
Keep us updated on your future adventures, and don't forget to come back and visit. This place will always be yours, and we're rooting for you forever.
Once a Mustang, Always a Mustang. 💫🎓✨

It's pretty awesome to be a Mustang! 😆💙💛🐴
Last Thursday we released our decisions for the upcoming 2026-27 school year, and we are so thankful for all of the families that have already chosen us. Thank you for allowing us to get to know you through the application process. We cannot wait to partner with you and watch your students grow, learn, and thrive! 🫶🏾☀️
EDS families, what’s your favorite part of being a Mustang?! 🤔🤩

In case you missed it, our annual Middle School Science Fair was incredible! 🔬✨
Students investigated everything from the Doppler effect and mealworm behavior to wind turbine design, yeast growth, and plant cultivation! One student even built her own incubator to study E.coli, testing whether garlic extract (which contains allicin) could make the antibiotic ampicillin more effective.
There was research on strawberry DNA, a fun project on how different AI bots perform in Super Mario over time, complex engineering builds designed to test the effects of mass on distance traveled, and more!
Thank you to our middle school teachers, our Science Department Coordinator Mr. Do, and Dr. Kraft for helping bring this incredible tradition to life this year!
We are so proud of our students and the thoughtful, ambitious work they shared with our community! 🌱⚙️

Our pre-K class had an incredible field trip to UC's in Half Moon Bay last week! 🌿🐐
The day began with a scavenger hunt in the Children’s Garden, looking for all types of things like flying and crawling insects, a pink flower, and different types of plants. It was a wonderful way to slow down to appreciate and observe our surroundings to learn through curiosity and discovery.
Inside the Learning Barn, students explored fascinating animal specimens (from pelts and fur to bones and teeth) and got an up-close look at how animals live and adapt. Then came the best part of the day: spending time with the animals! They helped feed the chickens, brushed the donkeys and cows, and later learned about plants growing on the ranch, including mint, kale, broccoli, and more.
It was a beautiful day in Half Moon Bay filled with exploration, laughter, and new friendships (both animal and human!).
We are so grateful to the parents who joined us and helped make this day so special. 🌞

After 8 wonderful years at Episcopal Day, we celebrate the retirement of beloved organist, Mr. Frank Saunders.
If you’ve ever paused to appreciate the beautiful music filling Chapel, you’ve experienced the artistry and dedication Mr. Saunders brought to our community. A Juilliard-trained musician with a doctorate in psychology, Mr. Saunders shared not only his remarkable talent, but also a deep appreciation for our school’s mission, students, and spirit of community that Chapel represents.
Yesterday, we gathered to thank him for the joy and inspiration he has brought to Episcopal Day School, and while Chapel won’t be quite the same without him, we are so grateful for the music and memories he leaves behind.
Please join us in wishing Mr. Saunders the very best in his retirement! 🎶

Donut Day was the sweetest start to our Wednesday morning! 🍩☕
This beloved Episcopal Day tradition brings our community together over coffee and donuts in support of a meaningful cause. This year, we once again supported Literacy Around the World through Mr. Paulson’s work with The Library Project. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our EDS families, we have been able to donate over 18,000 books to schools in need through this partnership over the past few years. This year’s Donut Day raised enough to help cover shipping costs for The Library Project’s next book launch, bringing even more stories to students around the world.
Students were also automatically entered into a raffle featuring some amazing prizes including CuriOdyssey passes, a signed SF Giants bat, Jeffrey’s gift cards (if you know, you know), and much more!
A huge heartfelt thank you to the DSPA for making this all possible and to our community for showing up with such generosity. 💙

Fourth grade had a blast diving into history at Angel Island last week! 🚢
After a foggy ferry ride and a fun hike, students toured the historic immigration station as part of their study on immigration to California following the Gold Rush. They learned that immigrants from over 80 countries were processed here and that families were often separated. For example, did you know that at Angel Island boys over the age of 9 were forced to go with the men while boys under 9 stayed with their moms? Living quarters were extremely cramped, and powerful poetry was carved into the walls by those detained.
An unforgettable day of learning, reflection, and connection to history for our fourth graders which brought empathy and understanding to their studies.
Swipe through for some photos from an incredible day! ✨
