This fun and informative lecture is coming up this Sunday!
The Standstill Cycle of the Moon
We astrologers are guardians of the sky. The simplest way to fulfill this task is to become familiar with the visible heavens, and the easiest way to do this is to watch the Moon. Her swift motion is like a "fast forward" button in the sky that helps us understand both the zodiac and horizon-based risings and settings.
One of her most important cycles (of many!) is the Standstill Cycle of the Moon. It is similar to the solar solstices, but far less frequent, and intimately connected with the nodes. Well known to ancients and included in alignments at sacred sites worldwide, this very visual yet little known cycle reaches an important turning point in November 2015. In this rich and informative lecture, you'll learn the basics, but more importantly, you will see the Moon with new eyes, observing her swings get wider and wider over the next several years as you apply lessons you've learned today.
