PAL South League Champions - CCS Div III Champions
Nor Cal CIF Div III Champions - Cal State Div III Runner Up The 1996-97 Hillsdale Knights Boys Basketball Team was a collection of local San Mateo kids who spent their youth playing basketball. The desire to see their teammates succeed without looking for individual glory coupled with their selflessness were key components in winning 30 consecutive games on their way to a Division 3 State title game and an eventual 30-1 overall record. The team also had an incredible work ethic that, when matched with the unforgettable veteran coaching from Bill Wilkin and Randy Metheany, helped
the Knights achieve an historic season.

HHS Hall of Fame 2024
William W. ("Bill") Hauswirth, PhD Emeritus (HHS '62) is being honored for his multiple, ground-breaking scientific discoveries that have been "game- changers" in the field of biomedical science. Perhaps most notably for his seminal contributions toward the development of the first successful gene therapy to cure a human genetic disease, notably an hereditary, progressive, irreversible form of blindness. For decades, curing diseases that lead to vision loss was considered a lofty yet unrealistic goal, and some even called it "science fiction". Today, however, thanks in large measure to Bill's discoveries, it's scientific reality! Among the many other accolades that Bill has received over the course of his nearly five decades-long career, this work was recognized as the third most important scientific discovery in 2009 by Time Magazine and was cited in "A Decade of Breakthroughs" by Science, one of the highest-tier
scientific journals in the world.

Greetings Knight Alumni,

After a 2 year COVID hiatus, We're Back! New and Improved!
Register here:
https://app.etapestry.com/cart/HillsdaleFoundation/cart2/index.php

For 25 years we have been gathering at the San Mateo Elks’ Club on the first Saturday in December, first
as Olde Knights (The Olde Knights’ Luncheon), next as Olde and Mid-Knights (The Hillsdale HS
Alumni Luncheon), and in the time of COVID, after being freed by Zoom from the physical limitations of
the Elks’ Club, we invited the Young Knights to join us. Now that we are returning to the Elks’ Club, we
are honoring that precedent and again inviting ALL ALUMKNIGHTS to our traditional yearly event, now
renamed as The AlumKnight Brunch. This will encourage an earlier reconnection with all who share the
common bond of our high school years at Hillsdale. Go Knights!

To qualify for the luncheon, you must have graduated from Hillsdale High School. Teachers and staff
members are also included. Spouses or significant others are not included unless they too attended HHS.
This is not a typical high school reunion. You will be able to visit with friends on either side of your class,
meet new friends, and chat with some of your former teachers.

To insure yourself a place at the brunch Register Now. Due to a change of room availability at the Elk's
we are limited to 200 guests.

And while you are registering, please consider also making a donation to the Keith and Cecile Gordon
Memorial Fund. Generous donations from Hillsdale Alumni have made it possible for the HHS Alumni
Association to fund annual $2,000 scholarships to honor Keith and Cecile, Homer Zugelder, and Rich
Mazzoncini in addition to projects identified by Hillsdale to support current Hillsdale Knights. Our goal
for this year is to raise $15,000.

Thank you for your generosity and we look forward to seeing you for Brunch on December 3rd!

HHS Class of ‘71 50th Reunion Update

SEPTEMBER 24, 2022 at the San Mateo Elks Club!

We are pleased to announce that after researching many venues and considering what would work best for all for optimum turn-out, the Elks came out on top! The Elks Club has a new caterer, “Catering by Austen” who has received really good reviews and, of course, it’s nearby and familiar to all.

We will be working toward sending out a “Save the Date” card with more details so we need as much information as possible ASAP in order to compile a mailing list.

Please send your name, address, phone, # of guests attending & email address to:

[email protected]

If you have any information on classmates that may not be on social media (or you just want to check with them to see if they received the info), please pass this on to them. It would be great to see as many as possible come out for the fun! We are also working on blocking some rooms at local hotels for those that are interested.

Thanks and we look forward to seeing everyone!!
