I love my work family!
How lucky am I to spend time with Denise, Kim-Lan, and the entire Family Room team on a regular basis? Such a dream team.
While I’m having so much fun stepping in and subbing classes, I am also missing our Parent & Me educators while they’re away on some well-deserved vacations! I can’t wait to hear all about their adventures and have the whole gang back together soon.
Feeling especially grateful today to work alongside such caring, talented, and dedicated people. 💛 Karen

There is a lot of pressure and so much parenting advice on social media and online. Tips about feeding, tips about tantrums, tips about language, tips about play, tips about sleep. Some of it can be super helpful, but at times it can also feel overwhelming.
One-size fits all parenting is unrealistic and your individual and family’s needs, as well as your temperament and your child’s all blend to make the unique and beautiful family that you are.
Take advice into the context of what works for your family and keep scrolling if it doesn’t, and please don’t beat yourself up about what you are not doing. You are doing great.

Unlike sing-alongs, The Family Room’s music program is built on a thoughtfully designed curriculum that supports your child’s development every step of the way.
Our classes are intentionally crafted around early childhood development and evolve as your child grows, from infancy through the preschool years. Each stage introduces new musical experiences that support cognitive, language, social-emotional, and motor development, all while nurturing a lifelong love of music.
New series starting in July. Save your spot!

Reality: Asking for help means you're human.
Reaching out for support, advice, or simply a listening ear isn't a sign that you're failing. It's a sign that you're paying attention to your needs and your family's well-being.
Parenting is demanding. There are seasons when we all struggle, and reaching out for support is often one of the healthiest ways to respond. Asking for help takes self-awareness, courage, and a commitment to doing what's best for yourself and your child.
At every stage of parenting, support matters. We all do better when we have people in our corner.

One thing I know for sure is that we were never meant to do parenthood alone.
There is something powerful about sitting in a room with other parents who understand exactly what this season feels like—the exhaustion, the joy, the uncertainty, and everything in between. No app, article, or social media post can fully replace real human connection.
New parenthood can be isolating, which is why community matters. Everyone deserves a place where they feel welcomed, supported, and understood.
What makes The Family Room so special is the people who fill it. Families of different backgrounds, beliefs, parenting styles, and stories. Families formed in different ways. Parents of all ages and stages.
The Family Room is proof that we can be different, authentic, and connected all at the same time.
I’m not proud simply because I created a community. I’m proud of the community we have created together. 💛 Karen

Parenting is made up of a thousand little victories. If you're in the trenches right now, give yourself credit for every one of them. You're doing better than you think. 👏💛
